Beyond shameful
The following statement was

No one wants to read about
sad stories or pain on Facebook,
but we believe we need to share
this to the larger community of
friends that we have both near and
far.
Today (Thursday, October
15th) was a hard day. I received
a call this morning at 7 am while
helping get the kids ready for
school. The call was from the
Sutton volunteer fire department.
They were calling to tell me that
all of my harvest equipment at
the field was on fire and they were
putting it out. We can not say thank
you enough to the Sutton and Clay
Center VFD’s who responded to
the early call.
Apparently, sometime early
this morning our combine and
corn head, tractor, and two semi’s
all caught fire at about the same
time while being parked at a safe

• The Glasgow Senior Center is located at 328 4th
Avenue South. BEHIND the Senior Center, on East
Court Street, you may park in the gravel parking lot.
FMDH staff will be at the marked door.
• Five people are scheduled each 15 minutes. DO NOT
ARRIVE more than five (5) minutes early. Five (5)
people will be allowed inside to have their nasal swab
obtained, those five (5) people will leave, and then the
next five (5) people will be allowed to enter.
• FMDH staff will not test anyone who does NOT have
a lab form filled out in advance by the Valley County

What a difference 18 days can make
Hard to believe this was just eighteen days ago! But yeah, Friday, October 2nd was a beautiful & fun day...
A trucker came into a Truck Stop
café and placed his order. He said, “I
want three flat tires, a pair of headlights
and a pair of running boards.”
The brand new blonde waitress, not
wanting to appear stupid, went to the
kitchen and said to the cook, “This guy
out there just ordered three flat tires, a
pair of headlights and a pair of running
boards. What does he think this place is,
an auto parts store?”
“No,” the cook said. “Three flat
tires... means three pancakes; a pair of
headlights... is two eggs sunny side up.
Our brother Ed Reddick has
taken his last car ride - last
game of cards - last breakfast
at the Oasis - last cup of
coffee at Della’s.
We will all miss his jokes,
sense of humor and being who
he was.
Finally he will be with his
beloved wife Mary.
We will miss him forever.

incredibly blessed to be from rural America, where
the people are the best.
Both of our phones have blown up with a
huge out-pouring of support from friends, family,
business partners, and strangers. People offering
their physical help, their operational help, and
offers of food and meals in this time of tragedy.
These people are already stretched thin, are stressed
and tired, but are taking time to reach out, and offer
help and aid in a time of need. We are so incredibly
blessed by everyone!!! According to the Nebraska State Fire Marshal’s office,

The kicker: Rempel was getting his kids ready for
school on Thursday, October 15th when he received a
phone call from the Sutton Volunteer Fire Department.
“They said, ‘Your harvest equipment is on fire,’’
recalled Rempel. ‘All of it.’”
Rempel described the location of the fire as a ‘very
rural area’, two miles off the two-lane highway. TRICK OR TREAT…….

in his Facebook post, it’s rather obvious that it was tied
