Technology – Reshaper of HR in 2020

In 2020 organizations will see an acceleration of trends that have


defined the world of HR not just 2019 but over the last few years. The
growth influence of technology, use of big data, coupled with artificial
intelligence, robotics and machine learning will reshape the world of
work, workers and industry.

Technology will enable hyper-personalized and therefore employee


experience. While this is used to be mass commoditized approach
earlier, it will now become personalized, hi-tech and high touch. While
fundamentally that primary responsibility of an HR manager pertaining
to hire talent, retaining and making a company the best place to work
has not changed, the way this is now done has become far more
complex and nuanced. And it will continue to be so, throwing up
opportunities and challenges in equal measure, in the year ahead.

If technology is going to be the full of change, how do we see this

AI to become a standard tool for recruiters

Artificial intelligence is pushing humans and machine closer together.


AI is being used in HR to automate repetitive, low- value tasks thus
increasing the focus on more strategic work. AI tools automate
common HR tasks like benefits management or handling common
questions or requests.

Onboarding is a vital part of successful employment. With the use of AI,


onboarding can be customizes to individual employees, their position
and tasks.
AI can be used for:

 Brief about job profile, tasks, benefits.


 Informing employees about important company contacts
 Setting up company systems
 Identifying and answering employees questions

The document verification have to be performed manually by HR staff.


It may consume time. But now it can be assigned to onboarding app.

Companies have implemented AI recruiters to automate scheduling


interviews, provide ongoing feedback to candidates and answer their
question in real time. This allow human recruiters to spend more time
converting candidates to hires. For example, chatbot can ask all kind of
basic questions like age, location, experience, etc. This helps to speeds
up the recruitment process, when there are hundreds of applicants for
a single opening, shifting through all the submitted resume can be very
time consuming. But AI can do it in a fraction of time.

As mush as difficult to hire talented employees, it is as difficult to keep


them exist. Almost 60% of organizations consider employee retention is
their biggest problem. AI has the ability to analyze and predict the
needs of the staff members. This platforms track employee computer
activity, emails, keystrokes, internet browsing and so on and store it.
Then AI analyzes the date to find normal activity patterns in the
organization. Based on that knowledge, outliers are flagged and
reported to the employer. AI is also being used to detect the changes in
the employee’s communications to predict when employees might be
thinking of leaving.
Engagement and productivity are essential qualities of successful
professionals. However, most of the companies are struggling to find
individuals who have those traits. Using AI tools, HR managers are
enabled to set concrete objectives and let all units work in smaller
increments. This type of work is easier to follow and assess and it
generates better overall results. AI does not only used to improve
productivity but also to detect team members who show lack of
engagement continuously.

Integration of HR practices with AI based applicants definitely have a


stronger impact in enhancing the organizational performance. But, the
real fear that is daunting the global workforce is how AI is showing its
impact in job cutting across various sectors throughout the world. But
in true sense there will be some percentage of employees are affected
by the AI based function, so it is the duty of the HR leader and
organizations to focus on its employee needs and possible outcomes.
And, finally most of the organizations are successfully integrating AI
based tool in recruitment but in near future AI is everywhere in HR. To
conclude the AI implementation should be viewed as an optimistic
opportunity, because AI enhances the lives, AI creates better future if it
is clearly understood and utilized in a proper way.
