MATLAMAT (GOALS) :

English Language is a global means of communication. English for Communication in KOLEJ


VOKASIONAL is to develop essential skills and techniques for the workplace such as speaking skills,
presentation skills and oral communication skills.

SINOPSIS (SYNOPSIS):

The course helps to develop communication skills in English through practical activities, to assist
students to use the language effectively in various situations, to converse and to conduct oral
presentations in English. Role playing, group work and discussions will have a strong focus to
ensure a high quantity of speaking activities. In addition, vocabulary and grammar exercises will be
included as required. This course will encourage and motivate students to communicate orally in
English with confidence, using active class participation.
HASIL PEMBELAJARAN (LEARNING OUTCOMES):

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:

1 Use elements and guidelines of speeches to write a text for public speaking.( C3, PLO1)
2. Prepare a well-organised oral presentation in groups using powerpoint slides that show subject
matter knowledge and effective use of visuals. ( A2, PLO5 )
3. Demonstrate effective oral communication skills in groups through role plays.( A3, PLO4 )

1.1 Discuss guidelines to writing and delivering speeches.


1.2 Prepare outline of various speeches using key logical and

speeches that inform, persuade, or fulfill the needs of a
special occasion or purpose.

2.0 Oral Presentation Skills

2.1 Select material and presentation style relevant to given

2.2 Design and develop presentations suitable for a range of
situations.
2.3 Use simple graphic organizers or i-think maps to assist
5-9 organization of ideas.
2.4 Use appropriate and effective visual aids and/or
technology to support presentations. 10 hrs
2.5 Use appropriate non-verbal language in their
presentations.
2.6 Organise and deliver the presentation with an
introduction, body and conclusion.

3.0 Oral Communication Skills in the Workplace

KEHADIRAN/PERATURAN SEMASA KULIAH(LECTURE ATTENDANCE/REGULATION):


1. Pelajar mesti hadir tidak kurang dari 80% masa pertemuan yang ditentukan bagi sesuatu kursus.
Students must attend lectures not less than 80% of the contact hours for every course.

2. Pelajar yang tidak memenuhi perkara (1) di atas tidak dibenarkan menghadiri kuliah dan menduduki
sebarang bentuk penilaian selanjutnya. Markah sifar (0) akan diberikan kepada pelajar yang gagal
memenuhi perkara (1).
Students who do not fulfill (1) will not be allowed to attend further lectures and sit for any further
examination. Zero mark (0) will be given to students who fail to comply with (1).

3. Pelajar perlu mengikut dan patuh kepada peraturan berpakaian yang berkuatkuasa dan menjaga
disiplin diri masing-masing untuk mengelakkan dari tindakan tatatertib diambil terhadap pelajar.
Students must obey all rules and regulations of the university and must discipline themselves in order to
avoid any disciplinary actions against them.

4. Pelajar perlu mematuhi peraturan keselamatan semasa proses pembelajaran dan pengajaran.
Student must obey safety regulations during learning and teaching process.
