1 Introduction
This installation document aims to guide a T24 User (Bank Administrator / IT User / T24
Implementation/ etc.) through the necessary steps to set-up the Windows 32 bit local lost
version of the Model Bank Reference System. The document covers installation and set-up
for:
1. T24 Model Bank – Classic

2. T24 Model Bank – Browser
3. T24 ARC – Internet Banking
4. T24 Web Services
5. Temenos Open Connectivity Framework
1.1 Terminology
Term Explanation
*.zip
A data compression and archive format. Contains 1 or more files that have been
compressed to reduce file size
*.rar A non-documented archive file format that supports data compression
Local host Standard hostname given to the local computer address
.bat A batch file is a text file containing a series of commands intended to be executed
by the command interpreter
Mbremote.cmd An executable file which is inside bnk.run to start the t24 in classic mode.

1.2 Pre-requisites

(Local host) in Desktop
3 Environment Details Internet explorer preferable as it

supports most of the t24 browser

 Internet Explorer ( IE 6/7)
4 Hardware Details
 Disk Space = 80 GB or above
 Processing Power (RAM) = 1 GB or above

2 Installation Steps

2.1 Step 1: Extract .zip/.rar in your Machine
PRE-REQUISITE: None
OBJECTIVE: Files ready for Step 2
ACTION: Make sure you have in un-zipped/un-compressed form at all these files
mentioned in Section:
1.3 Contents of this Package
RESULT: All folder and file types available in your computer
NOTES: It is recommended that folder deployment files e.g. Model Bank Folder is kept in
the root directory e.g. C Drive

2.2 Step 2: Create WINDOWS User
PRE-REQUISITE: You must be logged on as Administrator or as a member of the

Administrators group view and modify most properties and perform most computer-
management tasks.
OBJECTIVE: To create a Windows User
Step 2.2 (a)
ACTION: To start and use Computer Management on the local computer: Click Start,
and then click Control Panel. Click Performance and Maintenance, click
Administrative Tools, and then double-click Computer Management.
The Computer Management window for the local computer is displayed. "Computer
Management (Local)" is displayed at the root of the console tree.
RESULT: Display

Step 2.2(b)
ACTION: Expand Local Users and Groups. Click on Users. In the right window you
will see a list of the current users on the server.
RESULT: Display

Step 2.2(c)
ACTION: Right-click Users and select New User.
RESULT: Display

Step 2.2(d)
ACTION: Enter the following information:

1. User Name (required): all usernames must be unique e.g. 201012
2. Full Name (optional): the full name of the user
3. Description (optional): a description of the user
4. Password (required): password confirming to Windows rules
5. Confirm Password (required): this entry must be identical to the Password
field.
RESULT: Display

Step 2.2(e)
ACTION: Right-click the username e.g. 201012 and select Properties. In the Profile
Tab, enter Local Path. The path where bnk.run file folder is situated in the set-up files.
Click Apply and OK.
RESULT: Display
NOTES: Local Path: Location of the File Folder bnk.run. This will be located within the
Temenos\bnk File Folder
e.g: C\Temenos\ModelBank-201012PB\Temenos\bnk\bnk.run

2.3 Step 3: Set Environment Variable for starting the Agents
PRE-REQUISITE: You have created a Windows User as per Step 2 e.g. 201012
OBJECTIVE: This step sets the environmental variables for the Agents to run.
Step 2.3(a)
ACTION: Open a Telnet session using e.g. Tera Term or Putty. Log into localhost or
127.0.0.1.
RESULT: Display


Step 2.3(b)
ACTION: Log in with newly created User in Step 2 e.g. 201012. Enter password. You
will notice, you will be taken to the local path directory of this User.
Trigger the “mbremote.cmd” file to set the environmental variables.
Type N for the prompt START GLOBUS Y/N

2.4 Step 4: Start the Agents
PRE-REQUISITE: You have set the environment variables using Step 3
OBJECTIVE: This step is for starting the Agents.
There are total 6 individual Agents (*.bat) files. These bat files can be started one by
one. Or we can trigger a single file “start_agents.bat”.

2.5 Step 5: Check Application
PRE-REQUISITE: You have completed all previous steps
OBJECTIVE: This step is to test whether application has successfully started
ACTION: Click start_agents.bat to run. This will start 6 agents / 6 windows. Check for
JBOSS Window display.

3.3 Pre-Sales Retail User Guide

This document lists the details to be kept in mind while doing a Retail Banking
demonstration in the 201012 release of Model Bank. This contains pre-configured
Users and Customers, which can be used for Pre-Sales Demo.

This document lists the details to be kept in mind while doing a Private Banking
demonstration in the 201012 release of Model Bank. This contains pre-configured
Users and Customers, which can be used for Pre-Sales Demo.

3.5 Configuring Online Help Files (HELPTEXT)

To configure the Helptext for (a) BrowserWeb (b) ARCIB the following XML files needs
to edited:

Location:
C:\Temenos\ModelBank-
201012PB\3rdParty\jboss\server\default\deploy\BrowserWeb.war\helpParameters.xml
Edit the <viewLocation> & <editLocation> XML Tags to include:
C:\Temenos\ModelBank-201012PB\Temenos\HelpText\HelpText\
The saved file should look like below

3.5 Configuring Secure Document Download and File Upload

Check whether the right directories are given for upload and download channel in
tcserver.xml present in tocfplugin-ra.rar under the deploy folder of JBOSS:

Edit the <UPLOAD_PATH> & <DOWNLOAD_PATH> XML Tags to include:

C:\Temenos\ModelBank-201012PB\Temenos\bnk\bnk.run\tcupload\
C:\Temenos\ModelBank-201012PB\Temenos\bnk\bnk.run\docs\
respectively
Start the jboss and jbase agent for browser and ARCIB Browser and Perform file
upload or secure document download process using T24 ARC-IB/ Browser.

4 Miscellaneous
4.1 Trouble-shooters
(1.1) Not able to log into Localhost ( Remedy 1 )
(a) Check your Telnet Server is running in your Desktop / Laptop ( Task Manager > Services Tab )
If not able to see it here , it needs to be started manually from Services ( below button ) or go to
Computer Management > Services & Applications

(1.2) Not able to log into Localhost ( Remedy 2 )
(b) Check your jBase Telnet Server is running in your Desktop / Laptop ( Task Manager > Services
Tab )
If not able to see it here , it needs to be started manually from Services ( below button ) or go to
Computer Management > Services & Applications
This option is useful, when your Windows Telnet Server is not running / You need to pre-install a
jBase Server

(2) Not sure whether Telnet Server / TCP-IP Services are running ( additional way / Windows DOS )
Check using this commands
C:\>netstat -aon | findstr 0.0:23

Port number 23, where a Telnet server application (telnetd) is listening.
C:\>tasklist | findstr <Process_ID>
Process ID is the last column in the above request : e.g. 4724
If the above is not returning satisfactory, then you will not be able to do Step-3 onwards.
(3) To confirm if the jboss is running can confirm by typing the link
Check http://localhost:9095/

If the jboss is running and still cannot login because of the following error, then need to start the respective
agent in the respective putty or tera terms.
