How to Create a
Quality Flyer

1
12/10/19

Presentation 06_ENGL 01_JCV_First Sem AY2019-2020

Keep It Simple
Principle # 01

Flyer has a limited space that holds brief

advertising message. Due to these
limitations, the message must be concise and
relevant. The “Z” pattern is the most common
design, where the most important info is
located at the upper part of the material,
and the least important is situated at the
bottom part.

Presentation 06_ENGL 01_JCV_First Sem AY2019-2020

White Space is Important

Principle # 02

The flyer should draw the reader’s

eyes towards the most relevant
information. Avoid too much text or
graphics.

Presentation 06_ENGL 01_JCV_First Sem AY2019-2020

Use Appropriate Font

Principle # 03

Clarity and legibility is important for

flyers. Bigger and bolder fonts
attract more attention. The most
important info should be
emphasized.

Presentation 06_ENGL 01_JCV_First Sem AY2019-2020

Include Relevant Details

Principle # 04

Include name and contact details is

a must for a business flyer. Key
details such as email address,
phone number, and physical
address should always be included.

Correct Spelling & Grammar

Principle # 05

A flyer should have an immediate

and positive impact on the
consumer. Mistakes in spelling and
grammar will confuse the message
of the flyer and will convey an
impression of unprofessionalism.

Quality Printing Materials

Principle # 06

Take the time to find a printing shop

that can get flyers made quickly
and well. A nice material would
always attract people.

information are
organized and
follows the “z
pattern”

Effective Flyer:
-Follows the “z
pattern” where the
most important
information is
positioned at the

-the details provided
in the flyer are
complete for its
purpose, which is
to ask for donations

Sections
A pamphlet is going to be about half
visuals and half written words.
Therefore, for each section of the
material, you will only use a few

Call to Action

Your pamphlet should focus on a set of specific

objectives, and you have to make sure that your
target audience would understand and respond
to these objectives. The nature, rationale, and
objectives of your skills demonstration should
be presented in the first section of your
pamphlet. Objectives should be specific and
measurable.

Presentation 06_ENGL 01_JCV_First Sem AY2019-2020

Qualities of an
Effective Pamphlet

Tell A Story

Plan your rationale and objectives and

define your story based on these. Do not
simply place information, rather, make the
flow of information organized; let it follow a
journey that the readers could happily take.
You could start with a problem and then
proceed to the steps that they need to learn
to achieve the skill.
