UMF Announces First Remix Contest:

Winner to play at the expanded 3-day

13th Annual Ultra Music Festival in Miami

(Miami, January 2011) No time to wallow in the wake of December’s party madness. The new year is
upon us and aspiring producers and DJs are being called upon to make the leap from the 'Play House' to
playing live on stage at Ultra Music Festival this March in Miami FL USA. After 13 years UMF has
established itself internationally with attendance numbers peaking in 2010 with more than 100,000
clubgoers making the pilgrimage to Florida. As a way of thanking their supporters, UMF organizers have
announced their first ever UMF Remix Contest with the chance to remix Afrobeta’s 'Play House'. First
place winners will be given the opportunity to perform live on stage at the next UMF in March.
Additional prizes including SoundCloud accounts, a record deal and Beatport vouchers. The contest will
run until February 15, and winners will be announced March 1.

The remix contest is not only a great reference for the winner but is also a rare chance to play for
thousands of people and to start building a reputation in the global dance music scene. UMF is one of the
leading global festivals with serious artists like Carl Cox, Tiësto, David Guetta, Empire of the Sun,
Armin van Buuren, Pendulum (Live) and more. Afrobeta’s 2010 EP release 'Play House' is a track that
leaves a lot of space for creative interpretation, challenging the status quo with layer upon layer of sound
that blends funky synths, head-bopping basslines, electro house, bilingual lyrics and serious attitude.
Inspired by a mutual love of classical songwriting, Cuban pastries and dancing until 5 am, Afrobeta was
formed in 2006 by the Miami-based avant-dance duo Cuci Amador and Smurphio. Their live performance of
'Play House' to a sold-out 2010 Ultra Music Festival was colorful, crazy, passionate and explored Miami’s
clash of cultures with jamming sounds and a fantastic video light show.

plus the gig experience at UMF.
