Movies have developed into motion images that go beyond what the
regular guy can imagine. This is because of the development in technology behind
movie production. Everything seems to be within reach, no matter how far it can be
with the aid of chroma green screen. Also known as Chroma Key technology, this
makes movie makers more powerful in presenting visuals that are too far for actual
experience and even those that our own eyes have not personally witnessed in reality.
Some films make heavy use of chroma key to add backgrounds that
are constructed entirely using computer-generated imagery (CGI). Performances from
different takes can even be composited together, which allows actors to be filmed
separately and then placed together in the same scene. Chroma key allows performers
to appear to be in any location without even leaving the studio.
The chroma key technique is also used to create special effects like
invisibility, with the actor wearing garments and makeup which approximate the tone
of the chroma key background so that he or she will disappear in the finished image.
Chroma key can be used to make it look like actors are in dangerous, crowded, or
fantastical situations with a greatly reduced cost to the producers, and with less stress
for cast and crew.
