scaling in Model Space

4.1 SCALING in Model Space

In the Model Space always set the SCALE into 1:1

4.1.a To SCALE object by Reference

The example presented the object rectangle will be scale by using a reference
Line. The rectangle object measure 100mm x 100mm dimension. The object
Reference line length is 200mm. In this case this is use for some drawing were
The scale is not recognized, but in the part of the drawing there should be even
one-part item that exact dimension is identified as your reference.
Command: Click Rectangle in the Draw Panel
In Drawing Space: Click drag/ hold: type @100,100/enter (Figure A)

Command: SCALE
Click Home Tab Modify Panel, click SCALE
Command Line: Select the Object to Scale (Figure B)
In the drawing space: Select the object to Scale / Enter
Command Line: Specify the first base point:
In drawing space: Click point A
Command Line: Specify scale factor (or Reference): Type R
In drawing space: click point A, B and drag to C (Figure C)

4.1.b To SCALE Object by using Scale Factor

In this example in getting for the scale factor mathematical computations
will be used. In example presented the object lengths is 100mm and scale
it to 200mm: the formula will be: scale factor = length preferred/ actual length
scale factor = 200mm/100mm = 2

Command: Click Rectangle in the Draw Panel

In Drawing Space: Click drag/ hold: type @100,100/enter (Figure A)

Command: SCALE
Click Home Tab Modify Panel, click SCALE
Command Line: Select the Object to Scale (Figure B)
In the drawing space: Select the object to Scale / Enter
Command Line: Specify the first base point:
In drawing space: Click point A
Command Line: Specify scale factor (or Reference): Type 2/Enter
The blue color object is the scale object
Scale Factor Values if the scale use 1:100 = 100/100 = 1, 1:50=100/50 = 2, 1:20= 100/25= 4,
1:10 = 100/10 =10, 1:30 = 100/30 = 3.33333

4.2. LOT Lay Out Plan using the Survey Information

Lot plan is one of the essential drawings that needs to be comply. One of the important data
needed is the survey information or the LOT Description. This data consists the length with an
angle and direction.
To the example let us PLOT this information survey:

LINE BEARING DISTANCE

1-2 N 60o 21' 08" W Length = 77501.23 mm

2-3 N 29o 29' 45" E Length = 65800.63 mm

3-4 S 60o 30' 15" E Length = 58970.60 mm

4-5 S 46o 51' 11" W Length = 68161.47mm

Command: POLYLINE
From the Draw Panel click POLYLINE
Command Line: Specify the First POINT:
In the drawing Space: Click on the drawing space for point 1
Type < N60d21’08”W/ 77501.23/enter for point 2
Type < N29d29’45”E/65800.63/enter for point 3
Type < S46d51’11”W / 68161.47/enter for point 4

Note:
Before plotting the LOT Plan be sure to
Change the units desired to use.
In typing for TEXT degrees symbol in AUTOCAD
Type %%D = the symbol o for degrees
