4 Cooling circuit
The cooling circuit comprises inverter, drive motor, generator, cooling pump and
radiator.
Type of coolant: Water/Glycol 50/50
It has to be ensured that the selected coolant is corrosion-inhibiting and non-aggressive
to aluminium. The specification is based on a coolant-fluid of water/glycol, the minimum
volume ratio of water being 50%.
The cooling performance of the pump and the radiator must satisfy following key data:
Coolant flow rate (rated condition):
DUO-Inverter: 40 l/min
Motor: 1PV5131 8 l/min to 20 l/min
Motor: 1PV5135 20 l/min
Motor: 1PV5138 20 l/min
Generator: 1FV5139 20 l/min
Heat loss at rated power (Ploss):
DUO-Inverter: 5.0 kW

All coolant connections are tube stems for connecting the coolant hoses directly. The
hoses are fixed using hose clamps. The rated diameter of the hoses to be chosen

according to the diameter of the tube stems is shown in the dimensional drawing. The
motor /generator and the inverters do not have a separate possibility for venting. Proper
venting has to be realized within the cooling system.
Inclusion of air pockets within the cooling circuit have to be avoided by means of regular
maintenance of he cooling circuit and the integration of a compensating tank within the
system. The coolant should preferably flow through the compensating tank.

5 Connections
5.1 Motor /Generator / Inverter
5.1.1 Power connections
5.1.1.1 Motor-/Generator power connections
Terminal box with inside thread for PG-threaded joints PG16/SW24 and bolts with a
rated diameter M6 at the terminal box. Terminals U1, V1, W1 are used to connect the
power cables L1, L2 and L3.

Rated diameter and tightening torque:


U1: M6 9 Nm ± 10%
V1: M6 9 Nm ± 10%
W1: M6 9 Nm ± 10%

5.1.1.2 Inverter power connection


Terminal box with inside thread for PG-threaded joints PG21/PG16 and bolts with the
same rated diameter. Terminals L11-L31 and L12-L32 are used to connect the motors,
L41 are used to connect the braking resistor.
