SURVEY GEOMETRIC

On September 30, 2019, at 23:00 I attended a technical meeting in the parking lot
of the main building of Siti Walidah, to attend a geometry survey on the road in
carrying out the traffic engineering task. The first thing that is done is that the
teaching assistants attend every student who attends first. In this survey, it is only
intended for male students because of the favorable time conditions for women.
After being discharged one by one, then the teaching assistant gives direction and
guidance to carry out the geometry survey.

Around 23:30 we left for the survey site, and I found the area at the intersection of
3 SMK 1 Batik. Arriving there we immediately carried out the survey activities
using the tools that had been prepared like a wrote, a gauge. We carry out
measurements of every detail of the road such as road width, road length,
sidewalk width, and so on. After everything has been measured in detail, we also
previously sketched the road surveyed first. Then sketches and measurements of
the road are given to the teaching assistant to ask for a signature as approval.

TRAFFIC COUNTING

On the second day, at 15:00 we carry out the Traffic Counting or TC calculation.
Durimg this activity all group members are required to participate, unlike the
geometric survey. Each student has got their own places to carry out TC
calculations. I got area at the intersection 3 of SMK 1 Batik northward to the inner
line. First we do is prepare the tools what we use, then make sure the tools is on
good conditions. The tools we needed is like a counter for count the vehicle, but
in this case I only count the motorcycle and unmotorized. And not forget to bring
a pencil and the form for note. When I got there I immediately put myself on the
median. Actually it is very dangerous, because sometimes can be an accident near
me.

Because the weather is sunny, then I feel like the light burning my face and my
skin. Then if we already collecting the all data, we go to main building Siti
Walidah for ask the assitant giving signature and approval.

SIDE FRICTION

On the third day, Wednesday October 2, 2019, at 06:00 we started the morning
with carrying out the Traffic Engineering task of calculating Side Friction or can
be abbreviated as SF. In this calculation we calculate according predetermined
area as wide as twenty meter. Don’t forget to bring and prepare the stationery as
usual and the looped time per five minutes. In this calculation we are required to
count vehicles and pedestrians who stop in the area or only pass through the area.

In my case I got not too much frequency for the data, but it’s no problem. At
07:15 I feel dull because the frequency is decrease again. The weather is perfect
for the task today, because not sunny or not rainy. My friend helps me if I got a
problem in the method and I will help him too if he gets a problem, so we help
each other for better and efficient on counting. After I collect the all data, then I
must go to main building Siti Walidah for meet the assistant to get the signature
and approval.

TIME TRAVEL

This is the last task for Traffic Engineering is Time Travel calculation or can be
abbreviated as TT. This calculation is carried out on Wednesday October 2, 2019
at 15:00 until 17:00. Previously on the road to be calculated the first marked using
pylox with a width of ten meters. Don’t forget to bring your stationery, looped
time, and stopwatch. When we are arrived at the places then at exactly 15:00 we
began to calculate the time needed to pass from line one to lined one.

Sampling until the count is taken as much as per five minutes for two hours. After
that I prepare myself for getting burn again because the weather is sunny. Time
Travel is calculating the low vehicle, because it’s my part for the task.

If the time is getting late than, the more frequency or motorized or low vehicles.
After I collect the all data, then I must go to main building Siti Walidah for meet
the assistant to get the signature and approval.
