Tier 2 2017-2018
Participating Organization Project Proposal (EXAMPLE)*
* This example proposal was changed/modified from an original project proposal.
4. Description (1/2 page max): Please include your organization’s mission, your
objectives or goals for the upcoming year, the organizational structure, size,
etc.
Mission Statement: Our mission is to provide at-risk teens with entrepreneurial jobs while
supplying urban city communities with access to cold pressed juices and healthy goods.
Our organization has two co-founders and three people on the Executive Board. We currently
have four part time teen employees, one part time adult employee, and one full time adult
employee. Due to the small size of the organization, the two cofounders take on various roles
to support the organization.
5. Project Overview: Please describe the project or identified problem you would
like your Tier 2 team to address. Include:
a. Brief description of project or identified problem.
Up until this point Wilmington Green Box (WGB) has been a seasonal operation. Now
that our bottled cold pressed juices are being sold at Harvest House Delaware it gives
us an all year round sales outlet, but we’re looking to expand sales outlets so we can
increase sales during the colder seasons.
b. Why this project is relevant to your organization.
Our organization now has an increasing demand and we need to come up with
creatives solutions to meet this demand all year around (especially during the cold
seasons).

Successful Experience: BHLP Tier 2 students always feel as though they are “in the
loop” with the goals of our organization, and have a clear understanding of big and
small goals. Communication between the students and the organization is at least
once a week, and students feel comfortable pointing out where the organization can
improve efforts or take a different approach to solving a problem.
7. Provide 3 dates that work for your schedule, on which you are able to meet
with Dabney (BHLP Graduate Assistant) &/or Susan Luchey (BHLP
Director)before August 10 . These dates should exclude the week of July 9-14.
At this meeting, we would like to discuss the following questions:
● What are the problems your organization is trying to solve through this
project?
● What resources are available to generate solutions to these problems?
● How much time are you willing to spend to work with students who will
help assist your organization?
● What is preventing your organization from reaching your goals?
● How would you measure success of this project?
● Who is responsible for moving the project forward after evaluating the
checkpoint at each stage of the project?
● Describe the ideal student team, and the expectations of your
relationship with them.
