Discussion:

1. We met to discuss about what objective of this project. Then each member
gives their opinion and suitable project title.
2. After we discuss about topic that suitable for objective of the project is about
microprocessor-based system that can apply in UKM, we choose the title of
LCD Display Board.
3. Then, we divide group into two and each has two members, Khong Jiunn Jye
and Gan Soon Sheng will do in software coding part while Thor Man Hon and
Mohammad Taufiq will do in hardware part.
4. We make sure that all members update their works and tell to group what
their progress.

Discussion:

1. We gather for the second time to know the latest work in progress. Khong
Jiuun Jye and Gan Soon Sheng nearly completed their software part.
2. Thor Man Hon and Mohd Taufiq still work for the hardware parts that more
complex because the hardware part at the display should have the
initialization code for the software to interface to hardware parts.
3. Then, at that day we get the solutions for this problem. We found the
hardware that name Hitachi HD44780 LCD Display that can connect from
8255 PPI and the initialization code for this hardware.
4. After, Khong Jiunn Jye and Gan Soon Sheng done their software parts, the
group gather for further works. Because of the presentation day of the project
almost near, Khong Jiunn Jye and Gan Soon Sheng will do the slide and other
members will help on their own parts.
5. Thor Man Hon and Mohammad Taufiq will do the reports and now Khong Jiunn
Jye and Gan Soon Sheng will help on software parts.
Objective:

1. To create a microprocessor-based system that can apply in UKM.

2. To write code base on the project title LCD Display Board.
3. To build hardware parts that can display and interface it to the software
parts.

Introduction

The project title is LCD Display Board; this thing is can applied at lecture hall
in UKM. Basically, the project can give the output at LCD which outside of the
lecture hall, it show the courses title which in progress and the duration time from
when to when the lecture will be ended. Other, the output of this program will give
the soft beep when the lecture time is running out.

There some advantages of this project:

1. Students know what lecture is in progress.

2. Lecturers know their lecture time is running out because the sound of soft
beep.
