COGNITIVE
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Improving Mood in an Older Adult with Mild
Cognitive Impairment: A Case Report.
This study examined the feasibility of a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) program in an
older woman with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), depression, and anxiety to improve mood
and quality of life. Although in the short term (3 months) CBT helped improve mood and
quality of life, the effects were not maintained over the long term (12 months). CBT programs
should be tailored to the needs of MCI and dementia patients and regular follow-up sessions
should be used to assess program feasibility and patient mental health improvement.
CONSTRUCTIVE
Interest groups and strategic constructivism: business actors and border security policies
in the European Union.
Evidence suggests that corporate lobbying forms border security policies of the European
Union (EU), but there has been no detailed empirical and theoretical work detailing how
interest groups exert influence in this field. Policy preferences are co-constituted through
strategic communication by business actors, ideologies are built to gain political legitimacy
through strategic legitimation, and social structures are framed to match business interests
through strategic contextualization practices.
