VACCINATION PROGRAM

CALVES:
 7-10 days: Calf paratyphoid (S. typhimurium, S. Dublin, S.bovis
morbificans)
 3 weeks: Booster for Calf paratyphoid.
*Alternatively Calf paratyphoid can be administered to dry cows
 3-4 months: Coglavax® (Cl. perfringens A, B, C and D; Cl
novyi, septicum, tetani and chauvoei), or One shot ultra 7™ (Cl.
perfringens B, C and D; Cl chauvoei, septicum, novyi, sordellii)
*can be given earlier depending on risk
 4-8 months: Heifers: Contagious abortion; S19 strain or RB51
(can be used in cows and heifers older than 9 months)
 5-6 months: Bovishield® (Infectious bovine rhinotracheitis
[IBR], parainfluenza type 3 [PI3], bovine viral diarrhoea [BVD],
bovine respiratory syncytial virus [BRSV] and L. canicola,
grippotyphosa, hardjo, icterohaemorrhagiae and pomona) or
use Cattlemaster® (does not cover Leptospira)
*second dose of Bovishield® given 30 days pre-breeding. Can
be given to pregnant cows provided they were vaccinated pre-
breeding, otherwise vaccinate non-pregnant cows around 30
days post calving.
