4 and 5. Attach a word document to do
all the exercises proposed.

Reading
1. Read Miriam’s entry for the competition below. Who does
she nominate for the award? What do you think is his
most important quality?
I think nominating Matthew East for the award, the
empathy for Matthew
2. Choose the best first sentence for each paragraph.

 I met Matthew while I was doing a part-time course in


medio communication and I loved his way of teaching. (b)
 A good teacher is not just someone who prepares you to
pass exams, but someone who prepares you for life. (a)
 For all these reasons, I believe Matthew thoroughly
deserves the award. (e)
 Matthew is simply a brilliant classroom teacher. (c)

Reading
1. Look at the pictures on page 121 showing different
types of comedy around the world. Are you familiar
with any of these types of comedy?
I love stand-up and my favorite is FRANCO
ESCAMILLA, he is very good at what he does and he is
very funny in his shows. His performances can be
found on Netflix , Franco is from Mexico but he is
recognized all over the world.
2. Using your notes from exercise 2, tell your partner
about the types of comedy you read about. Then work
together to answer these questions.

would you describe it?}

In Peru the stand up is becoming fashionable, this type


of comedy is the most popular in the country where a
comedian performs in front of a live audience,
generally speaking directly to them using humorous
stories, jokes and witty phrases
