Aspart of my job duties at Facebook, I am responsible for investigating criminal behavior, including threats, harassment, and stalking made by others against Facebook employees. 1 have personally investigated and am intimately familiar with the various actions taken by Pradeep Manukonda (“Manukonda”) against Facebook’s founder and Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg, Mr. Zuckerberg’s sister Randi Zuckerberg, and Mr. Zuckerberg’s girlfriend and housemate Priscilla Chan. : 4, On December 14,2010, Manukonda sent to Facebook a letter addressed to Mark Zuckerberg requesting to speak with Mr. Zuckerberg in person regarding an allegedly urgent situation involving life and death, stating that he had been waiting for Mr. Zuckerberg outside of his office everyday for one week, and proclaiming that he viewed Mr. Zuckerberg as his “almighty: are various excerpts from Exhibit A: A true and correct copy of said letter is attached hereto as Exhibit A. The following tried all possible way to reach you and there was no success. ... Let me introduce myself as PRADEEP . . . Ex. A (Emphasis added). 5. On December 20, 2010, Manukonda sent Mr. Zuckerberg an email sounding in desperation, again requesting help and claiming to be in front of Mr. Zuckerberg’s office. A true and comect copy of said email is attached hereto as Exhibit B. The following are various excerpts, from Exhibit B: for sake of god and my mother ji really need your help time is runing out for me ... please respond immediately i am in front of your office. Just 2 minutes .. mark Ex. B (Emphasis added). 6. During the time period from December 11, 2010 through December 23, 2010, Manukonda sent numerous unsolicited communications through the Facebook website and services to Mr. Zuckerberg, Randi Zuckerberg, and Priscilla Chan, requesting that Mr, Zuckerberg help Manukonda. For instance, over the two-day period from December 22, 2010 through December 23, 2010, Manukonda sent over 20 communications on Facebook's website desperately pleading that Mr. Zuckerberg save his mother’s life, claiming that he would die for for Mr. Zuckerberg, and again admitting that he was waiting for Mr. Zuckerberg in front of his office. Below are excerpts from Manukonda’s various communications on Facebook’s website: “mark ... i am ready to die for you ..please save my mother” “[ owe entire my life at your service .. please help me, then i am ready to die for you" “please mark... Ineed your help ...i am infront [sic] of your office ...” “If did anything wrong , while contact you .. i am extremely sorry for my approach ... Life is very precious .. I am begging you tosave [sic] my mother [sic] life. On January 23, 2011, on Sunday night, Manukonda left a note on Mark Zuckerberg’s car. Attached as Exhibit C is a true and correct copy of said note, Exhibit C states: Honestly, I don’t know how to start. 1 know that you will view my letter in a aggressive mode. If you seen by previous letter I would like to apologize for my “obnoxious behaviour ... I plead, please help me in saving my mother. I am ready to die for you, please Mark please... I. am waiting outside at your house please do the needful assistance in saving my mother. ... If Priscilla is reading this letter I beg you sister, please convey this message to Mark. . . . please convey my apology to Randi Zuckerberg. Ex. C (Emphasis added), 8. On January 24, 2011 at approximately 1:45 p.m., Facebook security spotted ‘Manukonda walking towards Mr. Zuckerberg’s residence. Facebook security intercepted Manukonda, just as he was about to walk up the front steps to Mark Zuckerberg’s residence, Priscilla Chan—Mark Zuckerberg’s girlfriend and housemate—was inside the residence at the time. At that time, I contacted the Palo Alto police. The Palo Alto police contacted Manukonda and contacted me by cell phone so that I could hear Officer Sal Madrigal of the Palo Alto Police Department issue a verbal “stay away order” to Manukonda. Officer Madrigal directed Manukonda to stay away from Mr. Zuckerberg’s residence and place of business. 9. Despite this warning, Manukonda thereafter arranged to have a letter delivered to ‘Mark Zuckerberg’s residence on January 26, 2011. A true and correct copy of said letter is attached hereto as Exhibit D. The following are various excerpts from Exhibit D: My lord I promise this would be my last mail and I will never bother you again. Tam extremely sorry for yesterday inconvenience cause to you, due to my behaviour. 1 beg you, please give me once chance to prove myself that I am not failed in securing my family. I do really want to work with you to keep my promise that 1 am going to repay the entire amount incurred for my mother treatment. 4075300837. Lam ready to put my sweat and blood to prove myself that I am not an [sic] liability. If failed in any sense, you can skin me out. I am ready to face any consequence if [found to be guilty. Believe me, with no other option left at this time and I cannot able to arrange the financial aid for my mother treatment in this shortspan [sic] Ex. D (Emphasis added) 10. On January 27,2011, I met with and interviewed Manukonda at an offsite location. Manukonda promised that he would not seek any further contact with Mr. Zuckerberg in the future. I wamed Manukonda that if he attempted to contact-Mr. Zuckerberg again, that Mr. Zuckerberg would take legal action for his own protection. During our conversation, Mr. Manukonda claimed that he was previously employed by another local technology company, and that he had been terminated for approaching that company’s Chief Executive Officer for money. After my interview with Manukonda, I contacted the technology company’s security team, The security team advised me that Manukorida had also been stalking their Chief Executive Officer for several months, requesting money for a different ailing relative in India (other than his Mom). ‘The security team did not believe that Mr. Manukonda had ever been employed by the technology company. 11. Despite this contact and Manukonda’s statements that he would cease contacting Mr. Zuckerberg, on January 28, 2011, Manukonda had a vase of flowers delivered to Mark Zuckerberg’s residence accompanied by a handwritten note, A true and correct copy of said note is attached hereto as Exhibit E, which reads: Mark- ‘The interest in life does not lie in what people do, nor even in their relations to each other, but largely in the power to communicate.
