Budget Narrative
The goal of this project is to discover how we, as a school community, can spread
awareness about mental illness and the importance of maintaining good mental health. To do
so, my class will dive deep into research and class discussion, analyzing and evaluating mental
illness and health, to determine what information will be important to share. The research
component of this project will require access to a chromebook and/or tablet, hence why I have
chosen to add those pieces of technology to my budget sheet. It is crucial that my students gain
access to relevant and credible sources for their research. Considering that mental illness is a
serious and sensitive topic, it could be detrimental if my students hand out the wrong
information. To add, my students will need access to technology to build their final project for
the mental health fair that we will be holding for our community. Depending on their project,
some will need access to apps to create pamphlets, flyers, podcasts, videos, and websites, as
well as to work with journalism to publish articles to our schools website and newspaper.
Regarding my students final project, they will also need basic materials such as poster boards,
construction paper, copy paper, pencils, markers, tape, and glue. Some students will have
physical booths that will involve presenting their research on a presentation board, students will
need copy paper to print out their flyers and pamphlets, glue, tape, construction paper, and
markers will be used for construction and presentation, as well as to hangout up our
advertisements for the fair.
