NATURE OF BUSINESS

We decided to have a partnership to build a café business, we name the business as Luna
café. We would like to offer a cozy and minimalist concept to our customers, because nowadays
people tend to hang out or release their stress by step into any coffee shops, we will put a subtle
decoration with some good music. The nature of the business will involve us as the partnerships
also will be the serving staffs and hiring the barista, all pastries and cakes will come from our
suppliers. Or small office for documentation and management will be at the next of our cafe,
this is to ensure and make operations and management can be easy access and easy to monitor,
the office is to involve with daily sales and all, the others complicated task like auditing and
account management will be manage by our finance consultants. We consists of 6 persons to
own this business. Which are Muna Syahirah, Mohd Hafiz, Rusnida, Nor Azreen, Kholijah and
Amer.

Drinking coffee on a daily basis is a way of life in here in Bukit Jelutong Selangor. This is
precisely why we plan on opening a coffee shop in this small and quaint town where the people
love each other as much as they love their coffee. We intend to sell freshly brewed coffee using
these techniques: cold drip, French press, pour over, and syphon. The products I will offering
include coffee, coffee beans, coffee cups, gift cards. Our Luna Café will provide coffee,
entertainment, and a welcoming environment for the local community.

Luna Café located at Bukit Jelutong, which is very cozy and less traffic places, there are a
few coffee shops here, all of which are doing well. Our business would draw coffee drinkers
and also people whom like a lounge like atmosphere. As we will also sometimes will giving
opportunity to underground musicians or bands to expose their music’s in our café.

Our Company objectives is to make distinctly great coffee at a very reasonable price.
Secondly to build up the community by giving back by hosting free social events. To create a
welcoming environment where people can talk and mingle, and to turn profit from the business
not at the expense or quality or moral.

GOOD ENVIRONMENT INTO THE LAYOUT

Above are the business and office layout for our business, we have office in the next of
our café. For our business and operations layout, we are using minimal of furniture and
equipment, to make sure customers and employees feel easy to move. This layout to provide
effective allocation and use of floor space.

Our café shop will be modern and minimal café style layout. We will have a counter to
order, and to choose the pastries and cakes. The counter will stretches along the front of the
room. We will have a glass counter that displays our foods. In addition we will have portable
small stage for musicians in weekend. We also have the casual setting all through the shop,
along with the tables and bar seating. This will creates a pleasant working environment as all
the layout just been built accordingly to the needs of the customers and employees. As this is a
work based teams, the layout been built to facilitate the employees well. All the preliminary
planning for layout has been taken as of the task that been given to each employees, the work
flow, the organization chart to ensure how the works and responsibilities flows.

In the café we put the communication network such as phone, internet and iPad to make
communications between employees in operations can easily contact with management.

For the office layout, as you can see, we practices an open space layout anyone can seat
in any vacant desk, as all of the management’s person provided with laptop. This to ensure the
space requirements to be applied. Why we use the open office concept is based on our nature
of business which is, we are not compulsory to be in the office as we also need to focus and
monitors our business in café. This is to help ensure that employee’s tasks, tools and equipment
closely match needs. This concept also will help us to control and less our cost if any changing
in the layout, besides that, the communication and work flow will be efficient when we can
easily talk and discuss. The office layout and the business layout provided with washrooms to
make all people feel convenient.

This is a small office that not require a lot of furniture and equipment. In a small space,
we must know the purpose of the equipment, determination of the equipment, dependability,

specifications, costs, operational process of the equipment and safety features. Therefore, we
also use the minimal concept, to choose the furniture’s of what is the intended use, suitability,
durability and versatility. In the layout we provides a bathroom, waiting sofas and 2 big tables
for us and any other employees to do our tasks. We also provides reprographic center, to
provide copying and printing devices. It is just a simple and basic space that allocates for the
machine and cabinet for documentation, this is to make it centralized and keeping our records
in a good systematic ways. For the machine we lease from the suppliers with renewal contracts.

Our business and café layout was been create and discussed internally with the all the
managements, this are based on the principle that should be include in our layout, therefore all
the interrelations among equipment , information, and personnel in the flow of work had been
analyzed. Both layout has been create to ensure the employees and management can
comfortably works in efficiently. All equipment also been analyzed to make sure it’s ergonomic
for employees and also to customers.

As this are the partnership business with 6 peoples, we decided that we don’t follow the
hierarchical system to ensure all can works and get along together with the employees, we want
to create a fun, and happy environment. Therefore all employees are welcome to sit in the office
to continue their works including operations workers.

Our Luna Café currently is keep going to be the best café in Malaysia, therefore most
probably we will improve our layout, furniture’s and equipment’s to benefits the customers and
employees. This will be our target in 2021.
