Our Network Connectivity products include the following:

Voice (Local & Long Distance)

Centrex Business Lines / Standard Business Lines - Centrex is a central office-based

telecommunications system that lets you customize your telephone service to suit your unique
business needs. With Centrex, you can grow from two lines to as many as you need and from
the basic features to many optional features.
BRI ISDN - ISDN enables two separate voice conversations to take place, at the same time,
through the same single twisted-pair telephone wire that traditionally, in an analog
environment, carried only one conversation. What's more, since ISDN delivers two separate
channels through the wire, it is also possible to conduct a conversation on one channel, and
simultaneously use the other for a data device such as a PC or facsimile machine. These
multiple conversations could also take place while the speaker or someone else used the D
channel for a third simultaneous transmission. But that's only a start…

Voice Mail - Voice Mail is a powerful and flexible messaging service managed from SBC's
central office and monitored 24 hours a day. You can program your mailbox to take messages,
route calls to an attendant, or have your pager notify you when you have a message.
PBX & DID Trunks - Is a circuit-switched service that allows the user to control the 24
individual channels of the T1 circuit. The channels provide 64 Kbps bandwidth each, one of
which is reserved for signaling (D channel). Customers can mix data, voice, video, and packet-
switching services in any combination depending on the traffic. PRI benefits include flexible
data connectivity, reconfiguration capability, improved PBX connectivity, and enhanced equal
access to long-distance services.
Primary Rate ISDN (PRI)
SuperTrunk - SuperTrunk is a high-capacity trunk for PBX or similar equipment that offers
superior performance, quality, and reliability. SuperTrunk lets you integrate your existing
systems with new equipment to form a single SuperTrunk telecommunications network.
SuperTrunk offers you two-way trunks, provides Answer Supervision on outbound calls and
grants interoperability with Primary Rate ISDN and Centrex Systems. It supplies you with
alternate routes for inbound calls, Calling Restriction on outbound calls, and customized call
detail reports.

Data (Local & Long Distance)

Dedicated Point to Point Service: DSO (64Kbps), DS1 (1.544Mbps), DS3 (45Mbps), SONET
(155Mbps up to 10Gbps)
SBC DS0 Service - With DS0 Service, you can custom design a data network in a variety of
speed increments from 2.4 Kbps to 64 Kbps. DS0 Service is cost-effective, end-to-end digital
service that you can configure in point-to-point and/or multi-point arrangements between
sites. You benefit from high reliability because SBC monitors network performance 24 hours a
day. And when problems occur, our remote testing capability allows us to pinpoint the location
of line trouble and correct it quickly.
SBC DS1 Service - If you need a reliable, all-purpose digital connection for relatively high
volume requirements, DS1 Service sets the standard. Operating at 1.544 Mbps, DS1 Service
lets you combine voice and data traffic, link remote hosts, and increase productivity with data-
intensive applications like videoconferencing. You can use the entire 1.544 Mbps for single,
high-bandwidth applications or you can channel your DS1 into 24 separate DS0s for multiple
use.
SBC DS3 Service - DS3, also known as a T3, is the next step up if you are currently using
multiple DS1s. DS3 is the reliable, all-purpose, digital connection for extremely high-volume
requirements. Operating at 45Mbps (equivalent to 28 DS1 circuits, or 672 DS0 channels), DS3
can provide a cost-effective solution for consolidating your existing DS1 voice, video, and data
traffic. With DS3, you can link your high-volume host computers for resource sharing and load
balancing. And you can make your business more productive with bandwidth-intensive
applications like broadcast-quality videoconferencing.
SBC Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) Service - If you have advanced networking
requirements, Synchronous Optical Network broadband service is the ideal solution. SONET is
the cost-effective, dedicated, high-speed solution for multi-site businesses. SBC SONET
operates from 155 Mbps up to 10 Gbps. You can easily provision lower bandwidth circuits,
including DS1 and DS3, over SONET according to your specific traffic requirements. SBC offers
two types of SONET Service:
i. OC-N Service: A dedicated point-to-point SONET service that can transport voice, video, or
data between two sites.
ii. Dedicated Ring Service: A dedicated multipoint SONET service between multiple sites and
central offices, used to connect a number of locations to create a wide area network.
GigaMAN 1.25Gbps - GigaMAN provides a high-speed, high-bandwidth networking solutions
for your business. You'll receive fiber-based, point-to-point gigabit Ethernet interconnection
service to link local area networks (LANs) within a single metropolitan area at transmission
rates of one gigabit (1 billion bits) per second. GigaMAN is a cost-effective way to transport
data by extending the native architecture of your current Ethernet LANs. With GigaMAN
service, you can connect the LANs on your campus or between campuses in a metropolitan
area-with a range of 50 kilometers (31 miles) before you begin to lose the signal. (SBC
determines the actual distance by the dB loss within the fiber route, with a maximum loss of
29 dB.)
National Frame Relay 56Kb – 45Mb - Is a connection-oriented, fast packet service offered
at speeds of 56Kbps to 1.536 Mbps. Data is transmitted in variable length frames over
permanent virtual circuits. Frame Relay streamlines packet switching by reducing network
processing. Service is targeted for point-to-point and point-to-multipoint applications in intra-
enterprise net-works with bursty data and three or more locations. Frame Relay is charged at
a flat rate.
National ATM: Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) Cell Relay - SBC PremierSERV
Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) is a high-speed cell relay transport service that combines
disparate applications, from separate locations, using a common network access device and
physical network connection. SBC PremierSERV ATM enables you to run a single network more
easily and less expensively than managing multiple networks. SBC PremierSERV ATM uses
multiple virtual connections over a single line and reduces the number of physical interfaces
you need. And we can add virtual connections to existing ATM services easily, without any
additional access facilities or data equipment ports on your end.

Integrated Access Service

Integrated T1 (24 Channel) Voice & Data Service - Consolidate your voice and data
communications in one versatile network to take advantage of the speed and flexibility of your
T1 line. There's no need to invest in or maintain separate networks when you can combine the
services you need on one. A single T1 line provides you with 24 channels of capacity and 1.544
Mbps of bandwidth, which you can configure to suit the specific needs of your business.
High-Speed Internet Services

Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) Products

1. Point to Point (ppp) T1 - DS3, ATM, OC3, OC12
2. DSL Internet Access
3. Frame Relay 56Kb,128Kb,T1 & 45Mb

When Internet Service Providers talk about "dedicated" connections, they mean high-speed,
high-bandwidth connections that provide customers with full-time Internet access. In the case
of SBC Internet Services, these range from LAN ISDN and DSL Internet Access for small- to
medium-sized businesses all the way up to large enterprise-sized DS3, ATM, OC3, OC12 and
Ethernet DIA connections.
But for us, "dedicated" also means a dedicated connection to your company and your success:

It's dedicated people and resources

It's complete packages that make it easy for your business to get online quickly
It's one of the fastest, most reliable, fully redundant networks in existence
And it's a Network Operations Center at work (24 hours-a-day, 365 days-a-year), surveilling,
monitoring and actively managing that network to find and correct problems before they can
impact your business

Why is a dedicated connection such a wise investment?

A dedicated connection is much faster. With speeds ranging from 128Kbps to 620Mbps, it
transfers mammoth graphics and data files in seconds rather than minutes. Dedicated
connections are more reliable because they are "always on." They are also very affordable and
provide tremendous value when considering the cost of each additional modem, phone line and
Internet account necessary for dial-up access.
