II.1 Deep Boring With Drilling Machine

The drilling machines that were used are rotary drilling rigs with hydraulic pressure type.
The rigs were made in Japan (2 machines); YBM-YSO 01. The maximum capacities of the
machines are 100 m deep. The drilling method adopted wet coring using single core barrel.
The Sample that was obtained from the core barrel was maintained to describe the change of
layer and type of soil.

Along the drilling work, the Standard Penetration Test ( SPT ), was done at every 1.5
meter depth intervals. This test executed based on the ASTM procedure, D 1586, where the
weight of the hammer was 63.5 kg (Automatic trip hammer), and free falling of the hammer
was 76 cm.
