1. Brief Scope: : Supply, Installation , Testing and commissioning of two new pumps of capacity 34
MIGD per each with all associated mechanical, electrical, civil and ICT works for supplying water
towards Madinat Zayed tanks. Supply and Installation of DN1400 pipelines on the suction side to
connect to the interface point with Mirfa IWPP. Supply and Installation of new piping work including
all associate Valves &fittings at Madinat Zayed to enable reverse flow with the existing CS DN 1200
pipeline
transmit up to 40 MIGD to Mirfa.

4. Progress Narrative:
 Identification of Existing underground service and verified by Trial pit in Madina
Zayed.
 Fence Installation for Electrical and Control Building and Switch Gear Building
completed.
 Motor for Main Water Pump reviewed and Approved with comments.
 Structural Design Calculation for Valve Chambers submitted, reviewed and returned
to Contractor.
 Material Submittal for Surge Vessels, Material submittal for Electromagnetic Flow
meter done.
 System Hydraulic Study Transient state submitted, reviewed and returned to the
Contractor.
 Design criteria for structural work re-submitted, reviewed and approved.
 Revised Material Submittal for 33&11 kV Distribution Transformers done.
 P&ID resubmitted, reviewed and returned to Contractor.
 Process Flow Diagram submitted, reviewed and approved with comments
 Excavation, Data Collection and backfilling of 12 Trial pits at Madina Zayed and 31
Trial pits in Mirfa pump station compound completed.

 Drawing submittal of Overall Protection Single Line Diagram submitted , reviewed

and approved.
 Drawing submittal of Proposed CS 1400mm pipeline for plan & profile and Piping
G.A. Drawing for Pumps Room submitted , reviewed and returned to Contractor.
 Structural design of 33kV MV Switchgear building submitted , reviewed and
returned to Contractor.
 Drawing submittal of Overall Plot Plan Drawing, Proposed relocation of 400 mm dia.
Drain pipeline Plan/Profile submitted, reviewed and approved with comments
 Material Submittal for MV VFD and Phase Shift Transformers submitted, reviewed
and approved with comments
 Material Submittal for LV SWGR SMDB LV Capacitor, Vibration Monitoring System,
Pump Room Steel Structure New Extension, UPVC Pipes & Fittings, MV Motor,
Carbon Steel Pipes and Fittings with External Coating and Internal Lining, Butterfly
Valve, Air Release Valve done.

6. Areas of Concern.
 Project Optimization proposal has finalized however need to be formalized
and issue the VO accordingly. Engineering Design of the facilities under
consideration can only be finalized thereafter. Please note that building
construction works cannot start unless the structural size is finalized.
 Submission for civil sub -contractor for approval. Site meeting is arranged
and discussed. Metito informed that they have decided to do the civil works
by themselves rather than assigning to a sub-contractor. Metito advised in

 set up of site organization for Civil works and mobilization of Construction
Manager/site Engineer.
 Schedule Variance. Discussed with Contractor and contractor agreed to
expedite the submission of critical Engineering activities . Technical meeting
has arranged as and where required to expedite structural design submittal
and EIC design. Contractor will submit a recovery schedule to confirm the
action taken and verification of the effectiveness of schedule variance.
Contractor intended to submit the Revised Baseline program after the
approval of EOT due to Project Optimization.

7. Expected Project delay duration: 96 days.

8. Delayed Activity
