Honeywell’s presence in Pune includes the USD 200 million Honeywell Automation India Ltd.
(HAIL), which is a listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange
of India Limited (NSE). Set up in 1987 with manufacturing, design and engineering facilities
spread over 36000 square feet in the industrial city of Pune, HAIL is a leader in providing
integrated automation and software solutions with more than 2700 employees based in 8 offices in
India. HAIL also has the unique distinction of being one of the first automation companies in

Honeywell’s VNT™ turbochargers, when used on engines with common rail direct injection
technology can improve fuel economy by up to 20 per cent, increase low speed engine boost and
reduce emissions.
In Gurgaon, Honeywell has teams supporting the Aerospace, Specialty Materials, Security, Life
Safety and ADI business groups. A new Life Safety factory has been commissioned in Gurgaon in

At HAIL, Anant Maheshwari will be responsible for providing direction to the various
divisions and for driving Honeywell initiatives and strategies in ACS India. . Over the
last five years, ACS India has been growing faster than the industry driven by strong
capabilities in industrial automation, building automation and electronic security &
safety solutions. Anant will work at enhancing the synergies across all ACS businesses
within and outside HAIL, to continue the growth in these areas and contribute further
to India’s growth momentum in energy and infrastructure.
Anant’s role at Honeywell prior to this appointment was as Managing Director – Asia
Pacific for ADI Global Distribution, a leading B2B distribution business in security,
fire & low-voltage automation industries. He has also been Director, South Asia –
Honeywell Security (Jan 2005 – Sept 2007) and Director – Business Development,
Honeywell International India (Feb 2004 – Dec 2004). Prior to this he was with
McKinsey & Company working as a management consultant for telecom & hi-tech,
power & heavy engineering, steel and automotive industries,. He holds a bachelor’s
degree in electrical & electronics engineering and a master’s degree in economics from
the Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani, and a Master’s degree in Business
Administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India.
Honeywell’s UOP and Indian Oil Corp. to collaborate on biofuels projects in India
Companies would evaluate non-food Indian feedstocks for the production of Green
Diesel and Green Jet Fuels as well as the development of renewable power
applications from biomass waste
NEW DELHI, Mar. 31, 2010 -- UOP LLC, a Honeywell (NYSE: HON) company,
announced today that it signed a memorandum of understanding with Indian Oil Corp.
Ltd. (IOCL) under which the two companies would collaborate on research and
development for a range of biofuels technologies and projects in India.
The companies would evaluate installation of a demonstration-scale unit to produce
green transportation fuels at an existing IOCL site using non-food feedstocks available
within India. IOCL and Honeywell’s UOP would also evaluate the viability of
pyrolysis oil technology to convert lignocellulosic materials, or plant biomass, into
renewable power and heat.
IOCL would also focus on research and development for the production of algal oil for
use as a feedstock in the green fuels production.
