SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES OF AN ENTREPRENEUR 2020 AND 2025
An entrepreneur must have few innate qualities like broad vision, risk managing capabilities
and priority-based assistance to be successful in their business. The pandemic situation that
the world is facing is going be a challenging venture for the entrepreneurs all around the
globe. Possessing unique skill and competencies are the foremost quality of an entrepreneur
now. A strong motivation and resilient behaviour to achieve heights when situation turns
abominable.
With the substantial knowledge that I have about entrepreneurship, the skills and
competencies are:
Personal skills: The qualities that come within a person which can be reflective at the same
time, this makes an entrepreneur a role model for others.
 Optimism: Positivity brings energy, hope to techniques and different management
skills which is most essential for an entrepreneur.
 Vision: An entrepreneur must have future oriented vision in-order to develop an
enhanced efficient business.
 Desire: Desire is like vision but is bit different with high consistent ambition or
passion towards building his/ her business.
 Creativity: When it comes to the crucial question whether a leader is born or made,
this sense of creativity in an individual proves his ability to become an entrepreneur.
Interpersonal competencies: The competencies that are essential for sustenance and well
being of the business can be both internal and external.
 Initiative: It is more important to have a constructed plan to initiate and implement a
business to attain the target, it is a key factor.
 Leadership: An entrepreneur is a leader, in terms of hiring employees, training,
managing, assisting, and creating a comprehensive an environment friendly
teamwork.
 Ethics: It is important in all spheres of life and it becomes more crucial when it
comes to entrepreneurship and company management or business management. It is
important to follow as well as preach ethics in a business surrounding.
 Listening: Planning comes from listening to various ideas from different successful
leaders to move on with individual capacities. With listening comes patience, which
is highly important in the pandemic situation where people are facing new
challenges every day.
 Motivation: An entrepreneur must be motivated and resilient himself to create a
motivated work environment. He must be ready to face both ups and downs that he
will be facing in his business.
Business competencies:
 Knowledge: An entrepreneur must have substantial knowledge and expertise in
current trends, pros, and cons of the business they begin or hold.
 Strategy: Business planning, analysing, and implementing business strategies are
important for an entrepreneur.
