All procedures described in this Service Note should only be performed by authorized and trained technicians.
Warning: All systems used to analyze biohazardous and carcinogenic materials (infectious materials,
dyes) must be decontaminated before exposure to persons who are unlikely to apply proper
contaminated materials handling techniques. In case of accidental contact, wash your skin
thoroughly with soap and disinfectant. Always wear protective gloves when working with the
BioSafety Sample Port, Flow Cuvette or tubings.
Note: Make sure that the instrument is switched off and the line voltage is disconnected.
1. Remove the black protection cover of the Flow Cuvette.
2. Remove the sheath fluid and sample tubing from the Flow Cuvette.
3. Loosen the screw for the Flow Cuvette stage. (Fig.1a, 1b)
4. Move the Flow Cuvette stage half the way out. (Fig.2a, 2b)
5. Loosen the screw for the Flow Cuvette. (Fig.1a, 2b)
6. Remove the Flow Cuvette from the Flow Cuvette stage. (Fig.2a, 3b)
7. Remove waste tubing from Flow Cuvette. (Fig.2a, 3b)
Note: Support the Flow Cuvette at upper end when removing the waste tubing. (Fig.2a, 3b)
8. Connect waste tubing to the new Flow Cuvette.
Note: Support the Flow Cuvette at upper end when connecting the waste tubing. (Fig.2a, 3b)
9. Place the new Flow Cuvette into the Flow Cuvette stage.
10. Fix the screw for the Flow Cuvette at the Flow Cuvette stage hand-tight. (Fig.1a, 2b)
11. Connect the sheath fluid and sample tubing to the Flow Cuvette.
12. Put the Flow Cuvette stage back in place and fix the screw for Flow Cuvette stage hand-tight. (Fig.1a, 1b)
Note: Make sure that there is no dust or fingerprints on the surface of the Flow Cuvette.
Only use diluted dishwashing detergent for cleaning the Flow Cuvette surface and additionally with
