The Hearst Demystifying Media Series from the University of Oregon creates a forum for leading media
practitioners and scholars to talk about their work.
Since January 2016, we have hosted more than 40 events, with speakers from Facebook, Vox, BBC,
NPR, National Geographic, OPB, Trusting News Project and Hearken, as well as leading American
Universities such as Stanford, Columbia, Virginia, George Washington and City University of New York.
Alongside recording their public lecture, where possible, we also record podcasts and a short TV studio
interview with participants. Links to these recordings can be found below, alongside podcast transcripts,
interviews with campus radio stations KWVA, and write-ups in the trade press (where applicable).
You can follow or subscribe to media from the series via these channels:
Titles and organizations listed are correct at the time of the event.
For more information, please contact Damian Radcliffe, Carolyn S. Chambers Professor in Journalism,
University of Oregon, at damianr@uoregon.edu.
