English began as a West Germanic language which was brought to England around 400

Now that I’ve been here for a few days, I thought I had better write and let you know how I
am getting on with this beautiful country. When I first arrived, I couldn’t get used to the slow
pace of life! However, I’m gradually learning to take things easy and I’m beginning to feel
really at home. My first impression of the Irish is that they are really friendly and helpful people
and they certainly know how to enjoy life! I’m staying at a little guest house here in castle bar.
The countryside round about is marvelous, and I’ve been doing a lot of walking and fishing.
