Even without reading books or information from sites on internet, one can enumerate some of the

different importance of Physical Education. I already know that through Physical Education, we can help
ourselves to be physically fit. Also, through this, one can know how to facilitate his or physical,
emotional, social and spiritual well being. I think it is also the reason why we begin to enjoy and value
our way of life. Aside from this, one can also give his/her own definition of Physical Education. I think it's
one of the educational process where we can acquire skills and knowledge to carefully select physical
activities that can help our physical, emotional, social and spiritual growth. Moreover, when someone
mention Physical Education, sports also came into our minds. It is not just different sports and games
that are related to this, there are also dance and gymnastics. This sports and games also have their own
rules where we can learn and be familiriaze through Physical Education, this aforementioned rules can
help us develop our mental state because we can improve our mental capacities as we learn the
movements, instructions, rules and strategies. Physical Education does not necessarily mean that it has
something to do with our physical body as to the way we pose, as how big our muscles are or as how
strong or weak we are. It also has something to do with our social well-being. We may begin to be
friendly if we are not, we may learn how to be in a competition and how to socialize. We can also
develop or learn good traits like how to respect others and how to have a good sportsmanship. Some
may be confuse about the difference of play, game and sports. They are all related to this topic but they
have their own differences. Play means indulging ourselves to be in a game or sport. Game means
contest played in sports with rules. Sports means playing of games or participating in a competition
which involves physical exertion and skills like ball games. These sports can be play individually, by pairs
or by team. Types of sports can be competitive, recreational and traditional.

While reading the lesson, I started to question myself as to how someone can be so physically aware of
everything but can not physicall fit.

Does Physical Education also have its legal basis? I am also wondering as to where most of the words
used in Physical Education come from. Where exactly did the word Physical Education come from? I also
want to know if there are some ways or principles that can help us govern individually when we are
training.

After reading the lesson about Physical Sports. I have learned that Physical Education was really not the
given first term for this field. There has also been other given terms like Sports Education, Motor
Education, Physical Fitness etc. Moreover, Physical Education does not just tend to take place in formal
lessons, but also includes informal activities like play. This gave me some idea that someone can learn so
many things on how to be physically fit but can not apply it himself/herself. Why? I think it is because of
the main reason that only our mental capacities can be developed when we are learning. Physical
improvement goes with application not just knowing how to do it. I also learned that it is anchored in
three basic axioms (individual, social and inclusive) that lead to principles like: people are active for all
sorts of reason (may it be work, play, social interaction) etc.; it focuses on individual but also recognizes
social norms and values; and it provides essential ways on how to express who we are as a group or as
an individual. I also learned that critical thinking can also be developed here. The importance of Physical
Education has grew bigger, it just not help us physically but also helps as in all aspects of well-being. I
think it's also one of the ways as to how we will show ourselves as who and how we are as an individual
because honestly, some still find theirselves in a wrong path when it comes to being genuine about
themselves. Anyway, this can also be change when we start to nurture self-reflection and consciousness.
I also learned that there are four basic principles that govern us individually when in it comes to training
sports. These are overload, progression, reversibility and specificity. Overload means we must train
harder than we normally used to do in order to improve. Progression means that we must start training
from the start or slowly and build up in order to overload. Reversibility means that we will lose some of
our gains when we stop training but, we can get back to what we used to do when we start over again.
Specificity, by the word itself, means that we must choose the right activities and train muscles that are
specific to our sport.
