Dear Governor Sisolak,

It is with a heavy heart but a hopeful spirit that I submit to you my resignation from the Nevada State
Senate effective immediately. Just as I was honored to be chosen by the Clark County Commission and
the voters of District 10, I am now called to serve our country in the Biden Harris Administration. I will
be working at the Department of Health and Human Services, and as I always have, I will keep Nevada
at the forefront of my work.

When I moved here in 2010, I could not have imagined all the ways the Silver State would change my
life. I became a proud Culinary Union member and UNLV alumni, have seen Las Vegas’ resilience up
close, and was fortunate to create a network of friends that are today more like family. Nevada has given
me so much.

To be the Senator and represent the people of Nevada’s 10th Senate District has been the honor of a
lifetime. For the last five years, I have had the privilege of working with some of our state’s finest public
servants and activists on issues like affordable housing, prescription drug pricing, and consumer
protections. I am forever grateful to you, our state employees including your staff and the members of
LCB, and my fellow members of the Legislature for their enduring and inspiring commitment to our
state.

I did not make this decision lightly, especially considering the upcoming 2021 Legislative session, and
the important work ahead. However, I could not turn down the opportunity to continue serving the Silver
State, and our great nation.

I may have grown up in Florida, but I found my home and my heart in Nevada, and that will always be
true. I look forward to continuing the work for our great state. While I may be leaving the Senate, I
forever remain your ally in the fight for Nevada’s future.
