With traditional Process Oxygen With TRUEpeak you no longer have to
measurements the analyzer requires compromise:
you to:
Accuracy
Extract and transport the sample TRUEpeak method is interference free
Adding Cost and Slowing Response TRUEpeak measures the process without
changing the composition
Condition the sample to protect the analyzer
Rapid 5 second measurement in the process
Adding Cost and Compromising the Accuracy
Cost and Reliability
Protect the analyzer from the elements Installation without sample extraction,
Adding Cost transport and conditioning
No analyzer shelter required
Often the measurement also suffers from No sensor contact
Interferences – Reducing Accuracy
Sensor Degradation – Reducing Accuracy
and Adding Cost

TruePeak Features

Low Long Term Reduced Cost

Measurement Quality Reliability
Cost of Ownership To Install

- No moving parts - No analyzer shelter - No cross interference - Continuous diagnostics

- No sensor contact required - Fast measurement speed (every measurement)
- No sensor replacement - Typically no sample (5 seconds typical) - Diagnostics stored on
- High MTTF for all system required - Wet measurement (no the analyzer, history
components volume errors) data available
- Minimal - Positive indication of
calibration/validation operation
requirement - Automatic validation
- Low failure rate
- RUGGED

Accuracy vs. Paramagnetic

Measurement Quality
- No cross interference
- Fast measurement speed - (5 seconds typical) Dry vs. Wet Measurement
- Wet measurement – (no volume errors)
A rough calculation of the dry
measurement errors as follows:

Paramagnetic Interference - Moisture varies from 5-15%, O2 level of 10%

- With 15% H2O, paramagnetic will read 11.76%
Table below shows a sample hydrocarbon stream [O2 dry = 10% (1/(1-.15)) ]
and he amount of paramagnetic interference for - With 5% H2O, paramagnetic will read 10.52%
the two most common process paramagnetic [O2 dry = 10% (1/(1-.05) ]
analyzers. This is not a worst case example.
Servomex data (most extensive) lists 57 (out of - Using a mid level offset during calibration the
138) gases with a higher interference than those error will be +/- 0.62% oxygen
shown below.

ACCURACY VS. 1st GENERATION(2f) TDL

Measurement Quality
- No cross interference

- TruePeak is the ONLY process TDL that integrates

the peak area, eliminating background gas effects

- Other TDL analyzers either measure peak height

only (bottom table), or “fit” the peak

- Peak fitting has to deal with background gas +

PRESSURE + TEMPERATURE (top chart)

Reliability / Diagnostics

Paramagnetic
Reliability sensors contact the - Pressure spikes can damage the cell
gas. Aggressive - Corrosive/aggressive gases can
samples can destroy damage the cell
or compromise the
- TDL has no sample contact with sensor
measurement: - Liquids can damage the cell
- Windows can be purged to eliminate
analyzer-gas contact

- Spectra (IF stored on analyzer) can

allow historical measurement validation

- Continuous diagnostics

- TruePeak diagnostics stored on the

analyzer

- TruePeak allows Automatic validation - Diagnostics are STORED

with each measurement
- Spectra is stored during
warning/fault conditions,
TruePeak including high/low
Diagnostics concentration
- Warning/fault, calibration
