ARREST OF SUSPECT WHO ASSAULTED OFFICER IN ATV INCIDENT

Colonel Michael Winquist, Chief of the Cranston Police Department,

announces the arrest of Danilo Corrales, age 28, of 78 Bend Street, Central Falls, RI who
was admittedly involved in the illegal, organized and reckless ATV/Motorcycle ride
through Cranston streets on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2021. This brings the total
number of people arrested in this case to six with more expected.

The Cranston Police Department Detective Division developed information

that led to the identification of Danilo Corrales and the issuance of an arrest warrant for
numerous charges to include: simple assault, obstructing an officer in execution of
duty, disorderly conduct, reckless driving/eluding police, and driving with suspended
license-5th offense. Corrales was aware we were searching for him since the issuance of
the arrest warrant on January 12, 2021. Today, detectives along with the assistance of the
RI Violent Fugitive Task Force (VFTF) were able to locate him in Pawtucket where he was
taken into custody and transported to Cranston Police headquarters.

Corrales is seen on video surveillance operating a blue motorcycle, then he is

seen circling a marked police cruiser and a uniformed police officer who is trying to effect
an arrest in the roadway. Corrales then rides up alongside the officer, intentionally kicks
him and flees on the motorcycle. Once in custody today, Corrales admitted to his
involvement and his assault on a Cranston Police Officer. He was arraigned by a Justice
of the Peace on all of the aforementioned charges, bail was set at $5000 personal
reconnaissance and the next court date is set for April 8, 2021 in Kent County District
Court.
