Political Climate: Shannon
Armstrong, an organizer with the group South Florida
912, was present and spoke on what her group is doing in
Palm Beach County. She spoke about the Century
Village seniors group, the www.CVsuperseniors912.com,
who keep track of the food prices across the country.
Shannon’s advise was to get involved at the local level by
attending city council meetings, county commissioner
meetings, school board meetings, and home owners
associations for the purpose of cutting costs and stopping
unnecessary spending. The Palm Beach County
Taxpayer Action Board was also represented at the
meeting and they also encouraged activists to take
individual ownership of projects. The web address for

MUSLIM EXTREMISTS ISNA AND WIFE
BEATING ADVOCATE BADAWI FACE STRONG
TEA PARTY AND PRO-ISRAEL OPPOSITION:
On Saturday, January 8, 2011, Americans Against Hate
(AAH), an anti-bigotry, terrorism watchdog group,
demonstrated against the Islamic Society of North
America (ISNA), which was at the time sponsoring a
conference at the Broward County Convention Center.
The protest was meant to help educate the public, the
media and the government about the terrorism ties of
ISNA and the organization’s active propagation of
hatred. ISNA was founded by those associated with
terrorism, including convicted Palestinian Islamic Jihad
leader Sami al-Arian, and it was recently named a co-
conspirator in the financing of millions of dollars to
Hamas. ISNA currently has on its national website
inflammatory statements targeting Jews, Christians and
other non-Muslims and advocating violence against
women.
Among those showing support for the protestors were
our own Palm Beach County REC members, including
Tea Party Patriot Rosetta Bailey, REC Secretary Michael
A. Barnett, blogger Barry Carson, and former State
House Candidate, Professor Alison Rampersad.

terrorists to walk among us, to preach their
hatred of us, to co-opt our children's education
and loyalties, and to obtain funding to build their
infrastructure so they can destroy us from within, then we
are equally as guilty as they” stated Ms. Rampersad. “We
must remember that our country is pretty well the last
bastion of freedom and liberty on earth. If the U.S. falls,
where do we freedom-loving individuals go?”

Constitution was meant to be almost a civil religion for
the U.S. It is our history, guidelines for every day life,
and our roadmap for the future. The Founding Fathers
knew and understood that it would need to be tweaked
from time to time, thus leaving open the ability for
changes by allowing a mechanism called amendments.
Democrats sometimes argue that because the Articles of
Confederation were so lacking, that it proves their point
that the Framers wanted a much more powerful
government. Democrats believe that is why the Framers
developed the articles and amendments. Interestingly
though, the main concern of the Framers was doing so
while avoiding a system of government that allowed for
a concentration of power that could result in autocratic

As your county commissioner, economic growth and
stimulus will continue to be an important focus for 2011.
It has been reported that in the past six months,
numerous industries experienced job growth in the County:
private education and health
services category (+ 2,400 jobs);
retail trade (+2,200); leisure and
hospitality (+2,100); and
professional & business services
(+1,600). Additional reports have
indicated that the average weekly
wages in Palm Beach County have
risen by 2.5% from the second
quarter of 2009 to the second

But until full economic prosperity returns to Palm Beach
County, we will continue our efforts to create job
opportunities. This means pursuing a strategy to leverage
both private and public resources.

I'M A REPUBLICAN JEW…
AND PROUD!

I was raised by my hard working immigrant parents
in a two bedroom, one bath apartment, shared by five, in
Brooklyn. No automobile, clothes were washed in the
bathtub and the phone was located in Weinstein's drug store
down the block. My brother and I never complained, got
educations and became professionals. And as many of my
Jewish brethren around the country, we prospered and
outgrew all of our traditional, lower economic surroundings
and attitudes. We had large homes, many cars, the latest in
technologies, traveled and our humble origins thankfully
faded away.
We also matured politically, chucking our socialist
upbringing out the window and taking advantage of the
wonderful opportunities this country offered us: The reason,
of course, that our parents came here, in the first place! So
why are so many who were raised as we were, now living in
prosperity, still mired in the "one bathroom" political
mentality in which they were raised? Are they or their kids
operating sewing machines in the garment district? Are they
earning livings driving cabs or trucks, waiting on tables,
packing cartons or stocking shelves?

South Florida Tea Party: February 7th
Meeting in North Palm Beach County
Our next North Palm Beach County Tea Party

the Abacoa Golf Club. The special $10 Buffet and

Wellington, FL, (January 12, 2011)— The Republican Club of Central Palm Beach
County is proud to announce that it has elected Tami Donnally as its new President.
Donnally is the club’s first female President and will serve a one-year term. Last
election cycle, Donnally ran a strong insurgent campaign for State Representative in
District 85 against one-term incumbent Joe Abruzzo, winning nearly 48 percent of the
vote. As the newly-elected President of the 14 year-old club, Donnally is pledging a
renewed commitment to revitalize the club’s stated purpose and goals in order to expand
the membership and the outreach of the club in anticipation of the 2012 Elections.

The county has and will continue to provide
incentives and assistance to existing local businesses in
their efforts to expand, grow and create new jobs. Some
of these incentives include low interest loans and local
matching funds in conjunction with state grants.
Over the past year, we used matching incentive funds
to retain and create jobs for companies large and small,
including Office Depot, UTC Fire and Security, and
National Healing Corp., to name a few. The City of Boca
Raton has provided matching dollars as well. While I am
pleased to say that these companies are based in my
district, their workforces draw from all over Palm Beach
County.
Once we land a company, or a company decides to
expand, the County Commission has adopted “fast-track”
permitting to ensure that companies creating 30 or more
jobs get up and running quickly. Many of the cities in
my district have also adopted this model so companies
can cut through the red tape.
I have supported major economic development projects
throughout the county, such as the Inland Port in the
Glades area and the Wellington Medical District. Even
in a dreary residential market, south county will be the

So why are they still stuck politically on the Lower East
Side, in Brownsville or in East New York? Why are they

support of illegal immigration? Most of them, in a wink,
will tell you of their kids' financial prosperity, successes
and accomplishments, encouraged and prodded by this
free, capitalistic, competitive society. So why do they
yearn and vote for the return to their lives of
yesteryear? It makes no sense to me, for I refuse to even
consider going back to that one bathroom apartment even
as much as I refuse to go back to my "Roosevelt Days."
However, there's hope on the near horizon. The
younger Jewish population, more affluent than their
parents at the same time in their lives, have little or no
knowledge of the Roosevelt years, of union membership
or of discrimination. They earn big bucks, live in big
homes and want to stay that way. They have no interest
in giving up what they have worked for, in order to share
with those who have not. And thanks to Barack Hussein

We will also continue to leverage public dollars for
local infrastructure projects that meet community needs.
Some examples include hiring local companies to add
guardrails to roads next to canals and resurface the

In the end, the best job creation plan is to hold the line
on taxes and reduce government spending. Higher taxes
prolong a sluggish economy, and putting more money in
people’s pockets will help us to get us out of it. As your
County Commissioner, I remain committed to leaving no
stone unturned to restore economic growth to our county
so we can all truly have a happy, prosperous new year.

A CITIZEN’S ADVICE TO THE NEW
GOVERNOR AND LEGISLATURE ON
THE ECONOMY

November 2010 heralded a new chapter in Florida
politics and hopefully an end to uncertainty plaguing the
economy in this great state. As a citizen and fellow
independent minded conservative Republican, I would
propose a solution to revitalizing our state’s economy and
educational system. My core political-economic principles
are delineated in this article as follows: promoting a
productive public sector (i.e. schools, libraries, public
transportation infrastructure, etc.) that is outpaced by a
vibrant private sector. An educated society will allow
talented individuals to pursue their dreams and exercise
their ingenuity, while a solid public sector infrastructure
allows businesses to transport their goods in an efficient and
cost effective manner. These programs, if run efficiently,
will serve as long-term investments that will pay dividends
to our state’s producing classes and youth.
We must first address Florida’s staggering
unemployment rate of 12%. Governor Rick Scott is on the
right track, having recently met with the state’s private
business leaders to determine how government can best
serve our business community in creating desperately
needed jobs for Floridians. However, these efforts should
not be just confined to our local business community. On
July 24, 2010, former Republican State Senate candidate
Mike Lameyer told the Naples Daily News that Florida
must act immediately and aggressively to lure businesses
from high tax states and foreign countries to Florida, a right
to work state with no income tax and a populace thirsty for
jobs. If the Governor carries out this suggestion, job growth
would be guaranteed.
Governor Scott’s economic development transition team
should be applauded for proposing increased investment in
our port infrastructure and universities. Historically, the
United States was built on the economic bedrock of wealth
production industries such as farming, manufacturing,
transportation, mining, and invention. On the other hand,
consumption industries such as tourism did not become the
sole economic engine in and of themselves but were
dependent on the successes of these wealth production
industries. The high wages and job security of these
industries reinvests itself as workers spend this income at
the beaches, resorts, restaurants, and shops.

A similar proposal was tried and succeeded in the Ohio
River Valley towns and cities. There, steel mills provided
the wages that were then re-invested in the local stores and
restaurants by the labor force. This is precisely the
economic model that gave our nation the largest middle
class in the world! The best news is Florida has the natural
advantages of its waterways, geographic proximity to the
Caribbean nations and Latin America, and a vibrant
agricultural productive capacity. Investment in equipment
modernization and dredging channel depths to 50 feet
would greatly assist in accomplishing this task. This will
also allow Florida to easily export its’ agricultural produce
to our trade partners in Latin America, the Caribbean, and
the continental United States. Prioritizing expansion of our
expressways and freight railroads will also greatly assist in
this process of delivering products locally and
internationally.
Additionally, oil exploration and drilling in Gulf of
Mexico should commence immediately to promote energy
independence and thereby decrease Florida’s
unemployment rate. Estimates by Alexander’s Oil &Gas
Connections (July 2005) speak of 36.7 cubic feet of natural
gas and 5.2 billion barrels of oil in the eastern Gulf waters
that are ready to be exploited. Economist Hank Fishkind
estimated that 40,000 new jobs would be created, thus
boosting Florida’s economy by $7 billion (Naples Daily
News July 17, 2009).
Simply stated, if our state and local governments
incentivize the promotion of the wealth producing
economic sectors based on production and innovation,
employees in these sectors will then reinvest those dollars to
eat out, vacation at Disney World, and take nice weekends
at the local Florida beaches. Tourism and hospitality
consumption industries will do fine without any further
promotional efforts. Remember the model attitudes that
made our Republic the envy of the world! Therefore let’s
not cling only to tourism and real estate as the saving angels
of the economy. Recent history has proven that such a
model did not lift us out of past economic doldrums. So
what are we waiting for? Let’s get to work!

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Congratulations to the Republican Party on taking
control of the U.S. House of Representatives. Special
congrats to Rep. Lt. Col. Allen West. We all love you, and
rest assured, we're all watching. May the 112th Congress
perform as we hope - and pray. I
implore you to pay attention to an
assessment I wrote about the Nov.
2nd election and be guided...
Even registered Republicans
aren't in love with the Republican
Party today. This election was a
rejection and a repudiation of
Obama and his big-government
solutions/takeovers. This was a
ground-up movement against the sharp left turn that Obama
took the good ship USS America on and is an expression of
the nervousness of the passengers being hijacked to
destination unknown - by a Captain who never even rowed
a rowboat.
Add in a huge - if largely unspoken - case of buyers
remorse among MANY who voted for Obama, nagging
recurring thoughts about that lack of Obama's
qualifications, and the bizarre need for him to be loved by
Muslims, love he seeks by belittling America and
pressuring Israel. Miranda rights and civilian trials for
foreign terrorists, dropping voter intimidation charges
against the New Black Panther Party, even after they didn't
show up to court and the case was won by default!!
Most importantly, Republicans didn't earn this victory.
TEA Partiers did. Republicans were lucky enough to be the
default choice; elected Republicans know it too and they
will have to perform with integrity or face a similar fate. We
The People are a highly angered electorate.
Barack Obama and his sycophantic leftists earned their
drubbing with their un-American policies and Obama's
personal narcissistic audacious hubris. Obama has been
effectively paralyzed, and we're all better off for it. Add in
the bonus that we now will have perhaps the most pro-Israel
House of Representatives ever, led by Majority Leader Eric
Cantor.
It's over. Obama is not a natural centrist like Bill Clinton,
who served two Governorships in conservative Arkansas.
Obama is a liberal ideologue. The remaining Dems still
employed in Congress are the most liberal among their
party, and Obama will lose their support if he tries to tack to

the center. Thus, Obama's presidency has effectively been
neutered by We the People. Thank G-d!

lives he will have control over. If the power is concentrated
enough in that ruler’s hands, he is above the law and under
his direction, there is no rule of law.
To counter this, the Founders created three equal (in
terms of power) branches of Government: the executive
(president), legislative (congress), and judicial (courts)
branches, which compete with each other for power. At one
time or another, each of these three branches has over
stepped its constitutional authority and encroached on other
branches of power. Today the Democrats are frustrated and
impatient with the constitutionally provided mechanism for
legal change--the amendment process. They are trying to
run around the Constitution by appointing judges who are
willing to step on power reserved for the legislative branch
and "legislate from the bench" to essentially write new laws.
But, that is why we have the tenth amendment. The
tenth amendment provides that " “The powers not delegated
to the United States [three branches] by the Constitution,
nor prohibited to it by the States, are reserved to the States
respectively, or to the people.” I am proud of our elected
officials in Congress for bringing to life the most important
document we have.
And oh, what is in my purse… that’s right, a pocket size
Constitution. There is no finer thing to read while in line at
the bank, or waiting my turn somewhere. I am proud of my
country. Each time I read the Constitution I feel honored.
