MODIFIED TRUE OR FALSE. Analyze the given statement. Write TRUE if the statement is
correct and WRITE THE CORRECT ANSWER if the statement is false.
Activity 2: Reinforcement
Definition of Terms:
Lob
o A defensive stroke where the player lifts the ball for a very high return, allowing
the opponent to smash.
Edgeball
o A good return. If a ball passed over playing the surface before hitting the edge of
the table, then the ball must have hit the top edge, and therefore the return must be
good.
Score/Point
o A rally of which the reuslt is scored.
Score
o It is when the player wins the rally. It is won when the opposing player cannot hit
the ball, rallied or hit with a racket by the other player, and unable to get the other
side of the table.
Match
o played best 3 of 5 games (or 4/7 or 5/9). For each game, the first player to reach
11 points wins that game, however a game must be won by at least a two point
margin. A point is scored after each ball is put into play.
Fault
o called when a player makes an error to lose the point according to a rule. For
example, when a serve is performed illegally (eg. the toss is not higher than 6
inches), this is a fault and the opponent gets the point.
Let
o Service ball hitting the net or a distraction that causes the point played over.
Ends/Sides
o The sides of the table; Shall be regarded as extending indefinitely in both
directions.
