1. Survey: „What genres of music do you enjoy?“

Hello, today I would like to talk about music. Firstly, let‘s look at the statistical data. The given
horizontal bar chart shows the most enjoyed genres of music among adults. The y axis represents
various music genres while the x axis gives the percentage of adult respondents. The vast majority of
people choose rock as the music genre they enjoy the most. 85% of respondents said that they
prefer to listen to classical music. In comparison, only 15% of people choose country music as their
favorite making this music genre the least popular among the others. It’s quite surprising to see that
adults enjoy such music genres as rap or rock considering that usually teenagers are the ones who
listen to them the most. In short, the given information depicts that adults enjoy various music
genres, especially rock and classical music. However fewer people enjoy country and rap music.

Speaking personally, I used to listen to pop and rap music every day, but now I tend to listen to
various music genres. Usually I enjoy the songs which are played on the radio. Quite often you can
find me searching for new music releases on the Internet. To my way of thinking, if the song makes
you feel some kind of emotion and you can see yourself singing along to the song, it doesn’t matter
which music genre it is. As for my friends, they are huge pop fans since it is easy to listen to and is
quite popular among our peers. Also some of them are really into dance music. Since a lot of my
friends already own a car it is a must to have some energizing and very loud tracks on your playlist.

I strongly agree to the statement that music should be a part of our everyday life. Unsurprisingly, it
already is one of the biggest parts of our daily life. People listen to music when they go to school,
drive to work, make food, study, work and some even fall asleep while listening to it. In fact, recent
research shows that listening to music improves our mental well-being and boosts our physical
health. So I’m convinced that music should exist in everyone’s daily life.

2. Survey: “What music programs do you watch on TV?”

Hello, today I would like to talk about music on TV. Firstly, let‘s look at the statistical data. The given
horizontal bar chart shows the most commonly watched music programs on TV. The y axis
represents TV music programs while the x axis gives the percentage of respondents. The vast
majority of people fancy watching classical music concerts. 16% of respondents said that they
choose to watch jazz performances on TV. In comparison, only 6% of people claimed that they watch
opera performances making this TV music program the least popular among the others. It’s quite
interesting to see that people tend to watch these music programs. It‘s not surprising to see that
12% of respondents watch musical films and that’s because films are the only ones from the given
programs which you can’t see in real life. In short, the given information depicts that people enjoy
watching TV music programes, especially classical music concerts and jazz performances. However
fewer people choose to watch opera performances.

Speaking personally, I rarely watch music programs on TV since I prefer watching them online. If I
know that I am not able to see the performance live, I will definitely watch the recording of it on the
Internet. Although I do sometimes enjoy watching a good musical film on TV when it‘s on.

To my way of thinking for my musical education it is both beneficial to watch specialised music
channels as well as having music lessons at school. While watching music channels, you can gain
knowledge about different styles, techniques, instruments and famous musicians. Of course you can
do the exact same at school, however while being at school you can practise it in real life. You can
adapt and practise the things you saw and learned from TV in the music lessons with the help of a
teacher.

If I had an opportunity to invite any singer or any band to my school, I would choose to invite a well-
know English singer and songwriter Ed Sheeran. I really believe that having him at our school would
be absolutely amazing and beyond inspiring. He is one of my all-time favourite artists. His
charismatic and humble personality is the main thing I love about him.
MONOLOGUE: books

1. Christmas Campaign of Books

Books play a significant role in our life. The initiator of Lithuania‘s traditional Christmas Campaign of
Books President Dalia Grybauskaitė said: „Books carry our ideas, they teach us the true values of
life“. I believe that everyone would agree with this statement as books have become inevitable to
mankind.

A majority of people would agree that children begin their friendship with literature at school. They
become more and more invested in books. Sadly, nowadays school‘s libraries are getting emptier.
Due to the technology development, less attention is given towards books. Such campaigns as
Christmas Campaign of Books really help in reducing this problem. During this campaign lots of
books are donated and distributed to school libraries in small town and villages across Lithuania. In
2013, over 25,000 books were collected and distributed. It‘s heart warming to see all people coming
together and helping those kids who have narrower choice of books. You may ask what kinds of
books should be donated?

I really believe that the books donated to school libraries should be mostly educational, thought –
provoking but also age-appropiate. Various books provoke children‘s curiosity and discussion. They
also provide them with inspiration and thought. Most of the time books can be really useful and
applied to everyday life. As well as the thought-provoking books. The education system often
doesn‘t allow children to think outside the box. They are narrowing children‘s minds without even
knowing it. So the books which would be donated should help them expand their minds.

Speaking about myself, I prefer to read fictional works to informational texts. That‘s because when
you read fiction, you’re seeing the world through a character’s eyes and this allows you to be
someone you’d never otherwise have the chance to become. Most importantly reading fiction works
allow you to look at the world in an entirely different light.

I broadly agree that every school should have a rich library considering that it welcomes people in —
the library is a safe place, that values and includes students from different cultures and backgrounds.
Also school‘s libraries is a place which brings people and information together. Moreover, having a
rich library helps to close the education gap for students who might otherwise be disadvantaged, the
library can provide access to the stories, information, and technology they need.

2. International Book Fair

The first Baltic Book Fair in Vilnius was organised in 1999, since then, the Fair has seen over 3,500
participants and over 780,000 visitors. Nowadays book fairs are considered to be educational as well
as cultural events. You can join seminars, panel discussions, presentations, author meet-ups. And
many more activities to keep yourself engaged and to spread knowledge. Then, there are also
various cultural activities at the book fairs, which is another attraction for the visitors. They help in
inculcating reading habit among people of all age groups. Many schools bring their students to book
fairs, which helps in creating interest among children to pick up the books of their choice.

If I had an opportunity to buy some books of my choice, I would probably go for ‘Sweet Sorrow’ by
David Nicholls, ‘Normal People’ by Sally Rooney and ‘The Sleepwalker’ by Joseph Knox. I would love
to purchase and read them considering I‘m a huge fan of emotional, gripping stories. And I‘m always
searching for amazing authors to read in my leisure time.

If I had a chance of attending the international book fair in Vilnius, I would love to meet foreign
writers. Especially if John Green was there since he has written a lot of books which I absolutely
loved. I would consider myself very lucky if I had a chance to ask him about the creative process
behind the books as well as his own thoughts while writing them. It would be a dream come true to
meet him not only because he‘s a truly great author, but also because I‘m planning to study
publishing and would really like to get a deeper insight into it.

Lithuania also has a lot of aspiring and extremely talented authors. Some of whose works haven‘t
been translated into foreign languages yet and it‘s quite disappointing. I don‘t know exactly which
books haven‘t been translated yet since the list is constantly updating and a lot of books get
translated and published. Moreover, I don‘t often read Lithuanian authors works despite reading
them in school. But I‘m certain that many extraordinary Lithuanian authors don‘t get the recognision
they truly deserve.

1. Survey: „What is the positive impact of television on children?“

Hello, today I would like to talk about the positive impact of television. Firstly, let‘s look at the
statistical data. The given horizontal bar chart shows adult‘s opinion of the advantages of television
for children. The y axis represents the benefits while the x axis gives the percentage of adult
respondents. The vast majority of people claimed that learning about nature on the planet is the
most positive outcome of children watching TV. 80% of respondents said that the main benefit for
children who watch TV is getting entertained. In comparison, only 50% of adults claimed that
children learn to be creative while watching television. It’s quite interesting to see such answers
seeing that in many parents opinion TV is harmful for their children. It‘s not surprising to see that
55% of respondents answered that watching TV increases child‘s knowledge in many subjects. In
short, the given information depicts that adults choose learning and entertainment as the ones
which have the biggest positive impact on children who watch TV. However fewer people said that
while watching it, children are able to learn creativeness.

To tell the truth teenagers rarely watch TV nowadays. Although there are some TV programs which
they love to watch. Due to the rising popularity of teenage TV series and reality shows these two
programs are being viewed the most by teenagers. They tend to choose these programs since their
plot is often easy to follow and doesn‘t require a lot of attention. Another reason is that many
teenagers prefer to spend their time at home rather than going out and some of them miss the
excitement in their everyday life so they choose to watch these TV programs considering that the life
portraited in them is much more entertaining and thrilling than theirs.

I really believe that while watching TV programs you should learn new things as well as experiencing
positive emotions. For example some shows and channels offer educational programs that can
increase people‘s knowledge and make them more aware of the world around them. Other shows
can motivate people who are interested in that field and help them to pursue their dreams.
Television can even help you feel less lonely. These and many more reasons can be said to explain
why it is both important to learn new things and experience positive emotions while watching TV
programs.

2. Survey: „What is the negative impact of television on children?“

Hello, today I would like to talk about the negative impact of television. Firstly, let‘s look at the
statistical data. The given horizontal bar chart shows adult‘s opinion of the disadvantages of
television for children. The y axis represents the drawbacks while the x axis gives the percentage of
adult respondents. The vast majority of people claimed that the main disadvantage of television for
children is the bad effect on the eyesight. 80% of respondents said that violence shown on TV
stimulates children‘s aggression. In comparison, only 60% of adults claimed that children don‘t help
their parents since they are drawn to the television. It’s quite interesting to see such answers seeing
that in many parents opinion TV can be beneficial for their children in some cases. It‘s not surprising
to see that 65% of respondents answered that children choose to watch TV over playing outside. You
have to admit that TV has a lot of negative effects on children. In short, the given information
depicts that the bad effect on the children‘s eyesight is the main disadvantage of television. Whereas
fewer people said that the main problems of children watching TV are them not playing outdoors
and not helping their parents.

Personally, I don‘t enjoy watching TV as much as I used to, although I still watch some TV programs.
Some of my favourites include cooking programs and quiz shows, I also watch a couple of TV drama
series. From my point of view watching TV programs can be a good way to laze around and just
enjoy your time. Watching the TV programs that I mentioned is just exactly what I need after a long
day. Moreover, some of them can be very beneficial and educational. So not only you get a chance
to recharge your batteries, but also you gain a lot of valuable knowledge about certain things.

I broadly agree that parents should advise their children on the choice of TV programs. As children
grow and develop, they can be easily influenced by what they see and hear, especially from digital
media. From my point of view many programs can show children violent behavior and take away
time from reading, studying, learning activities, playing, and exercising. Parents should educate their
children and get involved in helping them separate good TV programs from bad ones.

3. Survey: „What newspapers do you read – print or digital?“

Hello, today I would like to talk about newspapers. Firstly, let‘s look at the statistical data. The
provided double vertical bar chart compares peoples‘ preferences of different newspaper formats by
their age. The y axis depitcs the percentage of respondents by age while the x axis gives the
newspaper format. A legend shows that the darker column represents younger citizens while the
lighter column shows older citizens. One of the first things to note is that the majority of older
citizens prefer reading a print newspaper to reading a digital one. It isn‘t suprising to see such
answers considering a lot of older people don‘t like using newer technology. Although 30 % of older
respondents claimed that they read print as well as digital newspapers. Looking at the younger
people the highest number of respondents said that they opt for both newspapers. Comparing
younger citizens with older ones we can see that 60% of older citizens choose print newspapers and
half this much is chosen by the younger ones. Both print and digital newspapers are chosen by 40%
of younger citizens and nearly the same amount of older citizens. Looking at the choice of digital
newspapers we can see a drop in interest of reading digital newspaper by older citizens. In short,
older citizens prefer buying print newspapers, whereas younger citizens don’t mind reading both
print and digital newspapers.

As technology is significantly developing, print newspapers are becoming less and less
popular.Speaking personally, I prefer reading digital newspapers considering it‘s really convenient
and you can find the articles that interest you more quickly. Moreover, it doesn‘t cost anything and
it‘s more eco-friendly.Like me, my friends and family also tend to read digital newspapers for the
same reasons. In general, young people in Lithuania show little interest in keeping with what is
happening around them. Simply because they are distracted by social media. Although, I believe that
those who are interested in current affairs, read them on digital newspapers.

Nowadays you can find tons of information resources. Both printed publications and news portals
are extremely useful. To my mind older people as opposed to younger people find printed
publications more useful though since a lot of them don‘t know how to use the Internet or simply
don‘t want to. Both of these information resources have advantages and disadvantages, yet I prefer
news portals considering it is more accessible and you can find the information you need in just a
couple of clicks therefore saving your time.

4. Bar chart: „The youngest and the oldest cinema goers, USA“

Hello, today I would like to talk about going to the cinema. Firstly, let‘s look at the statistical data.
The provided double vertical bar chart compares people of different age in the USA who go to the
cinema. The y axis depicts the percentage of respondents by age group while the x axis gives the
time sequence. A legend shows that the darker column represents cinema goers up to 17 year of age
while the lighter column shows people who are 70 years and over. The biggest percentage of cinema
goers up to 17 years of age is recorded in 2010. From this year the number of young cinema goers
steadily decreased by 3% till 2014. The largest number of cinema visitors who are 70 years and over
is recorded in 2014. We can see that this number is slowly increasing by 1% every two years since
2010. Comparing younger and older cinema goers one thing to point out is that from 2010 till 2014
young people up to 17 years of age are losing interest of going to the cinema, whereas people who
are 70 years and over are more likely to see films at the cinema. As far as I can see these numbers
will fluctuate but in the near future I believe that they will increase significantly. In short, the
number of cinema goers up to 17 years old is decreasing but is still larger compared to the cinema
goers who are 70 years and over. Although older people are getting more interested in going to the
cinema.

Speaking personally, I used to go to the cinema almost on a daily basis but now I rarely go to the
cinema considering it’s quite expensive and it’s more convenient to watch films at home. My family
never goes to the cinema though, they always watch movies that are shown on TV or watch the
latest movies on the Internet. As for my friends, they often go to the cinema since they enjoy sharing
the experience of watching films with a lot of people.

I don’t particularly agree that cinemas will soon disappear, however I do think that their popularity
will gradually decrease over the years. Most of the blockbuster films are available for downloading
online so people tend to choose the comfort of their home to watch a movie. It’s understandable
seeing that the tickets at the cinema are quite expensive and sometimes the whole movie watching
experience can be ruined by loud and inconsiderate people.

5. Bar chart: „Reasons for visiting the YouTube, UK“

Hello, today I would like to talk about visiting YouTube. Firstly, let‘s look at the statistical data. The
given horizontal bar chart shows why people in the UK visit one of the most popular internet
platforms YouTube. The y axis represents the reasons while the x axis gives the percentage of
respondents. The vast majority of people claimed that the main reason they visit YouTube is for
entertainment and music. 55% of respondents said that they use YouTube to watch videos. In
comparison, only 8% of respondents claimed that they use YouTube to share their own videos and
7% of people didn‘t say the exact reason why they visit YouTube. It’s quite interesting to see such
answers seeing that YouTube has grown significantly over the past years and is now one of the
biggest streaming platforms on the Internet. In short, the given information depicts that people visit
YouTube for entertainment and music as well as to watch videos. Surprisingly, fewer people visit
YouTube to upload their own videos.

Speaking from my point of view, I visit YouTube daily. It has become one of my favourite social
media platforms. Usually I go to YouTube looking for new music releases or to watch my most liked
vlogers. Moreover, it‘s a great way to find new movies and TV shows. My friends and young people
in general are extremely active users of YouTube. To my mind this is due to wide content variety, the
ability to watch content anywhere and at anytime and most importantly YouTube connects people
from all around the world therefore giving access to communicate freely.

The way I see it, it is better to go and experience a live music concert if you can, however watching
clips on YouTube is a true blessing in disguise for those who can‘t go or can‘t afford it. Seeing a live
music concert is an unforgettable experience itself considering you get to see and hear various
talented musicians and meet like-minded people. On the other hand, watching the clips on YouTube
is not as much exciting and thrilling as the experience of live music concert itself but for those who
don‘t have the ability to participate, it‘s a great way to stay connected with everyone else and
experience it differently yet still feel as if you are a part of it.

1. Bar chart: „Museum attendance in Chicago, USA“

Hello, today I would like to talk about the world of museums. Firstly, let‘s look at the statistical data.
The given horizontal bar chart shows which museums are visited the most often in Chicago, USA. The
y axis represents the type of museum while the x axis gives the number of visitors in thousands. The
largest number of visitors choose to go to the zoos. 22,000 people responded that aquariums are
their favourite museum to visit. Surprisingly, just 3,000 people choose history museums making this
type of museum the least popular among the visitors. Science and modern art museums are chosen
by a very similar amount of people. There‘s no denying that zoos and aquariums attract thousands of
visitors considering most of them are children and their parents. In short, people choose museums
such as zoos and aquariums since they offer more entertainment. On the contrary history museums
are the least chosen places.

Personally, I would love to visit modern art and history museums. I‘m quite interested in art so it
would be a great opportunity to gain more knowledge about modern art especially. To my mind
history museums are very much underrated. Yes they can sometimes be a little bit boring if you‘re
not big of a history fan. But there are a lot of amazing history museums which really make you feel
involved and makes you think about the present and how much of it is affected by various historical
events.

From my point of view, museums are really important for every town and even for every country.
Museums are the institutions which quite literally protect our past and preserve our rich heritage
which might otherwise be lost. Having museums where you live, seeing something that holds so
much of our past in person is quite different than seeing it on the pages of a book or on a computer
screen. Moreover, they promote better understanding of our collective heritage, curiosity and self-
reflection. Not to mention, museums are the places which help future generations comprehend their
history and recognize the achievements of those who came before them. In my opinion, museums
are both necessary and relevant in every country, city and the smallest town.

2. Survey: „Why do you attend arts events?“

Hello, today I would like to talk about attending arts events. Firstly, let‘s look at the statistical data.
The given horizontal bar chart shows the reasons why people decide to attend arts events. The y axis
represents the reason while the x axis gives the percentage of respondents. The vast majority of
people said that the chance to socialise with friends is the main reason why they attend arts events.
64% of respondents claimed that they attend arts events to get the opportunity to learn new things.
The minority of people answered that supporting the artist is why they attend such events.
Surprisingly, 63% of people attend arts events to experience high-quality art. The way I see it this
number should be much higher since arts events are specifically organized to appreciate art. In
short, it’s clear that majority of people attend arts events seeing it as a chance to socialize. On the
contrary, fewer people go to arts events to support the actual artists.

My friends and I very rarely attend such events. To my mind, young people don’t seem to find arts
events appealing to them. Maybe this is due to the lack of events which are orientated to young
people. Although if I got a chance of going to an art event, I would definitely attend it since it’s a
great opportunity to broaden your horizons and gain valuable knowledge about art. Moreover, you
can feel like you‘re a part of the cultural world and find like – minded people.

From my point of view all arts events shouldn’t be free for all. I would agree with the prices dropping
a little but not paying for it at all? I really can’t agree with it. We should take in consideration the fact
that artists make most of their living by creating art which is shown in these events, so how should
they be payed if we went to such events for free? They could be free only on one condition – if the
artist approves of it.

3. Bar chart: “Places where most accidents happen while taking a selfie”

Hello, today I would like to talk about taking pictures and selfies. Firstly, let‘s look at the statistical
data. The given vertical bar chart shows the most common places where people take selfies and get
in an accident while doing it. The y axis represents the percentage of accidents by location while the
x axis gives the locations. The largest number of accidents while taking a selfie happen on the
mountains and cliffs. 14% of accidents happen in the oceans and rivers. While only 3% of
misfortunes happen at the zoo and in the jungle. It’s not surprising to see trains and cars being
mentioned as one of the most common places since people are getting careless while taking photos
of themselves and pay less attention to their surroundings. I really don’t see a point in risking your
life to take a good selfie. In short, mountains, cliffs, oceans and rivers are the most common places
where accidents happen while taking a selfie. On the other hand, significantly less accidents happen
at the zoos and in the jungle.

Personally speaking, I prefer taking pictures of objects and people to taking selfies. I find selfies
extremely awkward and time consuming. Nowadays some people will do anything to take the
perfect selfie however I don’t see the point of it. It is said that selfies can even cause an addiction
and to my way of thinking they place too much emphasis on physical appearance. Besides I just love
taking pictures of objects as well as people. I find it very enjoyable and relaxing.

To tell the truth, you can enjoy being on your holiday while also taking pictures. It really depends on
the person. It isn’t a problem for me since I love travelling and photography so combining them both
is my definition of the perfect holiday break. Experiencing your holiday without having to do
anything for example taking pictures, can give you more emotional satisfaction yet enjoying your
holiday while taking photos creates a physical or digital record of a special moment. Something you
can look back on in many years and feel those emotions over again.

4. Survey: “What would you like to learn at a dance club?”

Hello, today I would like to talk about dancing. Firstly, let‘s look at the statistical data. The given
horizontal bar chart shows people‘s choices of various dance types they would like to learn at a
dance club. The y axis represents the type of dance while the x axis gives the percentage of
respondents. The vast majority of people wishes to learn hip hop at a dance club. A little less than
80% of respondents choose freestyle and party dances. Surprisingly, the same amount of people,
which is 40%, would like to learn Latin American dances as well as dances for fitness. It’s not
surprising to see that hip hop is the most common answer considering that this type of dance is one
of the most popular among young people. There’s no denying that dance for fitness will become
more popular in the future since people are getting more and more into sports these days. In short,
most people wish to learn hip hop, freestyle and party dances. On the other hand only 40% of
people want to learn Latin American dances and dances for fitness.

Personally speaking, I have attended a dance club when I was younger. For most of my childhood I
was dreaming about becoming a ballroom dancer. So when I was in my early teens, I decided to
work for my dream and found a dance club which was orientated in ballroom dances. The whole
ballroom dream lasted about a half of year and I quit. Looking back now I think I would have pursued
my dream further somewhere else but the accusations of pedophilia against my dance trainer
frightened me to the extent that my further attempts in becoming a dancer failed miserably.

I believe that dance is both a sport and an art because of the physical requirements it involves as
well as the happiness it brings people when they watch it, just like the way people receive a painting
or drawing. Some can say that dance is a sport since to be able to dance well, one needs to be
flexible, strong, have stamina, have endurance and most importantly have a love for what they do.
In any other sport you need to work hard, and that is exactly what dancers do. Dance is also an art
because with dance you are able to tell a story without using your mouth. Through your
choreography and your facial expressions you are able to completely change yourself into another
character.

Hello, today I would like to talk about leisure activities. Firstly, let‘s look at the statistical data. The
provided double vertical bar chart compares people’s time spent on leisure activities by different age
in the USA. The y axis depicts minutes per day while the x axis gives the activities. A legend shows
that the darker column represents people aged 15 to 19 while the lighter column shows people aged
75 and over. Speaking about younger people, they tend to spend about 2 hours watching TV per day.
This is twice times as longer as compared with socializing and communicating. Less popular leisure
activities include doing sports, exercising. Young people devote 50 minutes for these activities per
day. This is five times as longer as compared with reading. Reading takes up only 10 minutes per day
of young people’s leisure time making it the least popular free time activity. Speaking about older
people, the vast majority spend 4 hours per day watching TV. Significantly less people spend their
leisure time reading – only 55 minutes per day. The least common leisure time activities for older
people are socializing and communicating and doing sports as well as exercising which take up only
15 minutes of their free time. Comparing both young and old people we see that both of these
groups spend most of their leisure time watching TV. Reading takes about 5 times more of older
people’s free time compared with young people. However, young people tend to socialize and
communicate as well as exercise more than older people. In short, both young and old people spend
the greatest amount of time watching TV. On the contrary, reading and doing sports are the least
popular leisure time activities between these two groups of people.

Speaking personally, I don’t have a lot of leisure time activities since studying takes up most of my
time. However, I do enjoy going out for walks, taking photos and reading when I have some free
time. Spending time doing these activities help me to relax and recharge my batteries. Moreover,
they benefit me mentally since I can rebuild my focus and prepare for working. Speaking about my
family, they enjoy watching TV due to the fact that it doesn’t require a lot of energy and it’s an easy
way to relax, my dad especially loves exercising seeing that it helps him release all the emotions
after a stressful work week. My friends usually choose travelling and socializing as their leisure time
activities. That’s because they prefer being active in their free time and finding it as an opportunity
to build new connections with people.

I strongly agree that it is extremely important for people of all ages to have a favorite leisure activity
or a hobby since it can be a great stress reliever. Also, having a hobby encourages you to take a
break from working. Moreover, it offers new challenges and experiences. And most importantly, it
allows you to explore yourself and your talents. So having leisure activities or a hobby can be greatly
beneficial for people of all ages both physically and mentally.

provided double horizontal bar chart compares men and women’s choices for leisure time activities.
The y axis depicts the activities while the x axis gives the percentage of respondents. A legend shows
that the darker column represents women while the lighter column shows men. Speaking about
men, the vast majority of respondents choose going to concerts and exhibitions as their favorite
leisure time activities. 50% of men said that engaging in their hobbies is their favorite leisure activity.
Surprisingly, reading books is chosen by only 10% of men making it the least favorite free time
activity. Speaking about women, a little less than 70% prefer going to concerts and exhibitions, 50%
enjoys their hobbies and a minority of women prefer reading books. Comparing both genders, the
results are quite similar. The most favorite leisure activity for both women and men are going to
concerts and exhibitions. The same amount of men and women choose hobbies as their second
favorite activity. And as we can see reading books is the least popular leisure activity for both
genders. In short, men and women tend to choose going to cultural events rather than reading
books. We can also say that the same percentage of women and men enjoy their hobbies in their
free time.

Speaking about my
family, they enjoy watching TV due to the fact that it doesn’t require a lot of energy and it’s an easy

after a stressful work week. My friends usually choose travelling and socializing as their leisure time
activities. That’s because they prefer being active in their free time and finding it as an opportunity
to build new connections with people.

To my way of thinking, school – leavers have enough time for leisure since they are out of school
which often doesn’t allow students to have enough free time. However I do think that school –
leavers decide themselves if they want to spend their time for leisure or for more important things
like looking for a university, a job, a place to live and etc. It is my firm belief that if you want to have
some leisure you can balance it with the responsibilities in your life. Of course there are some
occasions where you have to do more of one thing but if you’re sensible enough, you can make it
happen.
