To begin your course, you need to complete a skills audit. This will enable you to have a clear
understanding of your current skills/strengths, and areas for improvement. It will also help you to
identify potential future careers and career paths into music.

Musical Skills – I am able to play a scale of white
keys at a speed of 250BPM with
practical my left hand to play and 300BPM
with my right hand with a good
accuracy. However, I’m capable of
playing at a maximum of 280BPM
with my left hand and 330BPM
with my right hand with some
mistakes at times. I am able to
nearly use the correct fingers for
the peace I play meaning I can play
more efficiently.
Musical Skills – Basics of how notes are related to
each other such as intervals for
Theory and better understanding or cadences

ending a peace. I also understand
how scales work and how they can
be easily done using circle of 5th. I
am most familiar with C and F#

video quality and advertisement.
It becomes easier once you get
views as people will advertise
you if they like your content.
Have something that makes you
different or better than other
content producers. Such as you
being able to play multiple
instruments or you being able to
compose. Every YouTuber has
their style and that is what most
people come for. For example, if I
play songs from anime’s or
Vocaloid then this is what people
will come to me for. If I upload
different content then most
people will not watch it as this is
now what they came for.

need a strong brand image. This
means that I will need to look at
having a good name/username. I

from it. For example, I must be
apple to satisfy the needs of the
viewers. For example, some
viewers may come just because
they want to see me play their
favourite song, or the want to
see me interact with them to
entertain them. I will also need
to start networking which means
that I will need to use other
social media such as Facebook,
twitter or even YouTube.

for me is not going to be gaining
views but keeping the current
views. This means that I will need
 viewers so it is always to constantly communicate with
something you can start with. the viewers if I am not playing,

make any mistakes.
*Both roles have lot of stuff in common so considering one will still require me to look at the other one.

Having completed the table above, now write a short but detailed assessment of your own
suitability for the role. Be honest with yourself! Good self-reflection can, and should be
positive, but it must be honest.

Job Role Suitability

• Recording Start of the course: I already meat the minimal requirement but I am far
e.g. YouTube from meeting the ideal requirements. I still believe that I only have
enough content for some videos so I won’t meet the ideal requirement.
I believe that if I would learn how to read music sheets I would be able
to gather more ideas for songs to play. Meaning learning music sheets
would bring me a lot further towards the ideal requirements.
Near the end of the first year: Now I have a proper software for
recording, before I would use OBS but now I will be using
StreamLabsOBS as it has more options then OBS and allows for quality
streaming and recording. I also would like to mention that before I
record I will need to plan the recording as I tend to have a problem
where I don’t know what to say. This problem is also for streaming
(Problem resolved in Streaming section [1 and 2 but not 3 as recording
is not LIVE])
• Streaming Start of the course: I believe that I still don’t have equipment for
e.g. Twitch streaming as the quality will be too low so ideal requirement will not be
meet. Due to bad internet, the video quality will be low as I have 1mbps
upstream.
7 months into the course: I now have a proper internet connection
which is 6mbps upstream so streaming with 1080p is now possible for
me. I also now obtained a good software that allows me to record and
stream with lot of customisation. I believe that I will still need a better
camera as my piano and me will still be the main focus of the stream.
Meaning I might need to obtain a better camera for streaming later on.
This is because I can use my phone however it warms up very quickly
when I stream 1080p from it. It becomes super-hot in 40min!
Near the end of the first year: I realised that my teacher mentioned that
I will need real time interaction and how confident will I be with it. I
tried streaming me play piano and realised that I am confident while
streaming but nothing comes to mind to talk about so there is an empty
space in the stream where songs aren’t played and I am not talking. I
believe that this can be fixed by (1) Streaming/recording more so I get
use to what to talk about. (2) Have some music play from radio or
website between pieces. (3) Ask questions to viewers, but this will
 require active viewers that I will not have at the start. Also, now I have
a proper software for streaming. Previously I would use OBS however
now I see StreamLabsOBS as a better choice than OBS because it allows
for a higher quality streaming and recording.
• Overall I believe that I will be able to achieve my goals of doing the 2 jobs as I
have a very good idea on how to obtain the jobs from both learning
action plan and career action plan. Both of them describe in detail on
how I must train and what I must do I reach my goals. I also know my
current skills and I know what needs to be done to improve them or
what new skills need to gain.
