MAN B&W Diesel A/S 1 (2)

INTERFACE BETWEEN MANB&W ALPHA LUB.SYSTEM AND VESSEL SYSTEMS

We have from MAN B&W supplied the alpha lubrication system which can be regarded as
one big block of different items.
This system has to interface with the ships governor/safety and alarm systems in order to
work. As MAN B&W do not know the specific governor system on the different vessels, we
require a specialist from the governor maker to be present during the retro-fit, in case the
safety system and/or alarm system is of different make than the governor system, a
specialist from the maker of these systems will be required as well.

This has to be arranged by owners.

The interface consists of the following items:

We will from our side supply the alarm system with 6 new alarms for which we will need
available channels as well as cable termination points.

We will from our side supply the safety system with one engine slow down signal for which
we need cable termination points.
From the safety system we require two separate engine stop signals.
From the safety system we require one signal for engine ahead/astern.

From the governor system we require one signal for cylinder lubrication in Load Change
Dependent mode.

The LCD signal is not absolutely vital as we can obtain the same feature internally in alpha
lubrication system. But it is much preferred that the signal is made available.

All signals are digital.

All these changes in governor system normally require the system to re-configured by
specialist.

Please see the enclosed Alpha lubricator interface specification which must be handed over
to governor/alarm and safety system specialist.

Best regards
