chemical dependency program director at the Minneapolis American Indian Center; and as a planner for
the Chemical Dependency Division for the Minnesota Department of Human Services. He is currently White Earth Reservation Native Alive Campaign 
working with youth at the Oshki Manidoo Treatment Center in Bemidji.

Melissa George‐Humphrey, MSW, LICSW (my English name with professional creden als) Melissa is a
descendent of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe. She graduated high school in Cass Lake, MN. It was at Stellher Human Resources/ Upper Mississippi     
Hamline University that she completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Women’s Studies and Adult & Children's Services 
her Master of Social Work degree was completed at the University of Washington’s School of Social
Work. Melissa’s concentra on in graduate school was health/mental health with a strong focus on grief
and loss work and cogni ve – behavioral therapy. Currently Melissa is working with her business:
Booshke – Mental Health, Inc. (Booshke‐Giin is Ojibwe for “It is up to you!”) wherein she is commi ed
to providing mental health professional services through a cultural and clinical lense. Currently she is Regional Contact:
providing services to an Anishinaabe Band by way of program development, treatment direc on and
clinical supervision. Concurrently Melissa is diligently expanding her por olio of wellness focused Susan Dufault , M.A.
trainings/presenta ons that are grounded in Anishinaabe culture.
