LINES SPEAK

(BY Shrigopal Aggarwal, Advocate)

PALMISTRY is a science which enables one to accurately know his past and
see his future. It comprises of study of palm, its texture whether hard or
soft; length of palm which is always compared in proportion to the body;
size & shape of fingers [whether flexible or hard; Straight or supple’
knotty or smooth etc.]. Palmistry covers
study of mounts & their placement on the
palm. There are normally three main lines on
the palm viz. life line, head line, and heart line.
Besides it there are other important lines on
the base of fingers, as shown in the picture above
which, needs to be carefully analyzed as it is the
place of their origin, their movement on the
palm, their depth, whether well marked, fine or
broad, smooth or bears cut marks/breaks etc.
play a pivotal role in the study of palm.

Study of books on palmistry, of course, requires a

little patience followed by regular practice at
home which certainly leads to build up of self-confidence. I have
developed interest in the study of palmistry since 1976 and & since
1980’s, I have studied number of hands mostly when I was on tours to
various places all over India; however, I could not meet the various
officials whose hands I have studied to ascertain the degree of
correctness in the forecast. In the year 1993, I lost my interest in the
study of palmistry completely. However, in Sept. 2010, while on tour to
U.K., based on my experience, I have found time to recollect my memories
and pen down few tips, in brief, for you to see.

1. It is always the study of left and right hand [both], which is

important; left speaks of what we inherit from our parents and right
signifies whether the person concern has done to improve or to take
further what he/she has inherited from the parents through his/her
own efforts.
2. That one should never come to a conclusion by seeing a particular
mark or line etc. unless supported by another mark or line.
3. That if some line /mount or mark appears on both the hand and that
their placement and depth is also identical, it speaks that happening
of events as signified by the line or mark is bound to take place.
One could take precautionary measures, yet things happened as
marked and signified by the particular lines which appeared in both
the hands.
4. The Indian authors normally consider that for the ladies, it is the left
hand which is a prime hand for study purposes and for the men it is
the right hand which is important. Whereas the most of the foreign
authors don’t differentiate on the basis of gender and consider that
the right hand as a major or active hand for the study and forecast
purposes unless or until the person is left handed [i.e. he/she is
doing work from left hand]. I have also based my study as per their
belief.
5. That roughness of skin is a sign of hardness & violent
attitude/nature which is devoid of affection whereas softness of
texture of skin speaks of politeness in nature, showing concern to
the human problems, a sign of affection.
6. The length of the finger, if large, would mean that the person
concern would go in detail of the issues; he would be looking a little
worried and only be satisfied until he/she goes in the depth whereas
a person of little fingers takes quick decisions, believe in quick
actions , and understands things quickly
7. Similarly while shaking hand, if one finds the grip of other person is
good, it speaks of activeness, openness & a person of positive
attitude as compere to the other type of hand who should have self-
centered nature; zealous of other development.
8. Supple and flexible fingers without knot thereon speaks of a person
of a spendthrift nature; a person capable of making his / her home
easily in all surroundings, how difficult they are. Whereas a person
of knotty fingers and other qualities of the fingers remaining same,
would only differ from the above only to the extent that he would
spend money cautiously.
9. Shape & size of Thumb is very significant & crucial in the
determination of the character of a person. The role of thumb is
similar as it plays in leading a normal life. Just as without with the
support of thumb, one can’t pick up any goods or pen or discharge
his one’s duties similarly in the field of palmistry, shape of thumb is
very pivotal in determining the character and personality of an
individual which I would discuss in my next article along with the
relative length of the various fingers

In this article, I have tried to concentrate the outer side of hand which is
easily accessible and noticeable for all my fellow colleges who are readers
of ‘Catopia’. I would however, like to complete this article by saying: ‘Life
can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards’[By
Soren Kierkegaard].
