1. Techniques: Drying, Extraction, Filtration, Recrystallization, Reflux, Salting-out, Spectroscopy

and Mass Spectrometry
2. Nitration of Benzaldehyde
3. Reduction of Carvone
4. Synthesis of Nylon
5. Synthesis of Methyl Orange
6. Synthesis of Aspirin
Questions are shown one at a time

Question backtracking is not allowed

Auto submission is enabled when time duration expires (2:30 PM)

Force completion is disabled

A calculator is needed.

Prepare your internet connection. Attach LAN if it would help, update your browsers to prevent problems
with figures and pictures

Exam will be open at exactly 1:00 PM and will close at exactly 2:30 PM. This is a closed note
examination. Observe the Thomasian Code of Honor.
Students are advised to start the online examination on time as no time extension will be given even if
they started later than 1:00 PM.

Although only one gadget is needed to take the online examination, students are advised to have back
up gadgets with internet connection (PC or laptop or mobile phone or tablet).

A stable internet connection is also recommended when taking the exam. Have a back up internet
connection source (i.e. data) just in case the main connection becomes unstable.

When internet interruption occurs, you may still go back to the examination and continue provided it is
not beyond 2:30 PM.

Once the student starts the exam, it is his duty to finish it. A started online examination is considered a
taken examination.

For any problems on the test questions such as non-appearance of structures, pictures or choices,
please take screenshots and email it to your respective professors. Considerations will be given as long
as there is proper documentation.

Students who miss the online examination will automatically get an INP (in progress) grade.

For completion of INP, students are advised to contact their laboratory professor for a scheduled face-to-
face written examination.
