Beautifying the church environment enhances the

Days for Life campaign of prayer and fasting for an
end to abortion during Lent. St. Edward and San
Felipe are committed to pray outside of the Planned
Parenthood Facility (700 S. Tustin) on Wednesday
March 9th 7:00am – 7:00pm. Please sign up to
pray for an hour or more if you can.

SOUL WALK returns this Lenten season
Come join us again this Lent for a morning SOUL
WALK on the beach This year we’ll walk every
Thursday morning during Lent beginning on
MARCH 10TH. After a contemplative prayer ex-
perience, we walk together alongside the ocean in
God’s beautiful creation. Mark your calendar and
watch this bulletin for more information!
SOUP AND STATIONS
Back again by popular demand, we invite every-
one to come and pray the Stations of the Cross
and then enjoy a simple soup supper after the
5:30 PM mass on all the Fridays during Lent.
Beginning on Friday, March 11th, all of our won-
derful ministries will take a turn hosting the event
each week. Stations will be in the Church, soup in
Knight Hall. Need clarification? Call the FF Office
at 496-6011.
The next Serenity Day is Tuesday, March
8th. Donna Couch, Director of Faith Forma-
tion at St. Edward, will be our spiritual direc-
tor for a mini-retreat. We will learn to draw
closer to the Holy Spirit through meditation,
reflection, and our very own Speaker . Be-
gins with Mass at 8:15, followed by brunch,
and the program in Knight Hall. Keep check-

SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT DE PAUL
In 1617, Divine Providence called an ordi-
nary man to an extraordinary mission, by
touching the heart of Vincent de Paul and
leading him to the service of the suffering
and destitute poor in the villages of France.
Vincent founded the Confraternities of Charity (Ladies
of Charity), ordinary lay women in the parishes who
served the sick in their homes. In 1625, he founded his
community of priests, the Congregation of the Mission,
to evangelize the poor. And in 1633, Vincent and Louise
de Marillac co-founded the Daughters of Charity to
serve the poor through health, education and social min-
istries. Today, all three organizations continue their mis-
sions to serve throughout the world.
