ASSIGNMENT NO.

2 (ONLINE CLASS)

NAME: Samantha May P. Aniceto

YEAR AND SEC: Grade 12- Good Counsel
SUBJECT: PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT (Core Subject)
TEACHER: MRS. JOSEFINA F. VELASQUEZ

POINT OF DISCUSSION/ PRESENTATION:

1. Draw a symbol or symbols of what represent/s your “Self”./

2. Explain the quotation by Oscar Wilde: “To Love Oneself is the Beginning of a
lifelong romance”.

The quotation points out that love for others must begin with loving yourself. The
idea that people love themselves to a certain extent is something that we can pretty
well presuppose. Granted that all of us are motivated by seeking our own good to
some extent, some people have fallen irrevocably in love with themselves.

People who are in love with themselves act the same way, except that the object of
their love is themselves. They love themselves in the same way as a lover commits
himself or herself to that special person. They put their own happiness ahead of that
of other people.

If you love yourself, first of all you will care less what other people think about you,
but you will also never leave yourself, disappoint yourself, or betray yourself or trap
yourself. We literally receive as much love as we give.

3. Write down how you define yourself in terms of Philosophy, Psychology, and
Spirituality. What are the differences among the three?

In philosophical terms:

I believe in the existence of God, angels, holy spirit, ghosts, but I don't believe in Father
Christmas.

Spirituality:

I think that spirituality may not be linked only to religious experience. According to
several religious denominations, spirituality reflects the way of life characteristic of a
believer who seeks to achieve the fullness of his relationship with the transcendental.

Psychological profile:

I consider myself an introverted person, in fact I am more intuitive, introverted,

sentimental, extroverted and lastly, I know that I am not a productive person.

4. Share some of your unique characteristics, habits, and experiences.

Characteristics: I'm actually a chilled person who tries to be cool and open minded
about everything. I prefer texting to calling because I find it easier to think through my
thoughts when I'm writing them. If you talk to me on a call.
Habits: I cannot sleep without a blanket, be it summer or winter. I just can’t. It feels like
being naked to me.

Experience: Never try to impress a person. You'll end up making a fool of yourself in front of
them. The more you run after things, the farther they'll seem. The more you run away from
things, the more they'll chase you. So never play this game. It's just the worst.
5. How can you catch hold of a feeling of self-esteem?
There are things I remember when I have low self-esteem, I remind myself that I
deserve more than the negative beliefs I cloak myself in. Accepting this
intellectually will help me change my thoughts when my beliefs try to pull me
down. Stop blaming myself or other people. Self-respect. Love myself because
it’s a duty. We are unique, don’t forget it. I deserve respect, no matter who I am.
The first person who needs to have a high esteem of you it’s you. Rather than
allowing feelings of low self-esteem to overwhelm me, take control of my
thoughts by reminding myself of these self-esteem truths. As I learn new ways of
thinking and behaving, I will begin to recover my self-worth and confidence.

7. Explain fully Our Personality: Illustrations below will help you explain it intelligently.
The word personality itself stems from the Latin word persona, which referred to a
theatrical mask worn by performers in order to either project different roles or
disguise their identities. Personality is made up of the characteristic patterns of
thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that make a person unique. In addition to this,
personality arises from within the individual and remains fairly consistent throughout
life.

Personality is the product of social interaction in group life. In society every person
has different traits such as skin, color, height and weight. They have different types
of personalities because individuals are not alike. It refers to the habits, attitudes as
well as physical traits of a person which are not same but have vary from group to
group and society to society, everyone has personality, which may be good or bad,
impressive or unimpressive.

It develops during the process of socialization in a culture of a specific group or

society. One cannot determine it of an individual exactly because it varies from
culture to culture and time to time. The feeling and actions of an individual during
interaction molds the personality. It is the sum of total behaviors of the individual and
covers both overt and covert behaviors, interests, mentality and intelligence. It is the
sum of physical and mental abilities and capabilities.
