I. AIM: This lesson aims to help Ss to:
- Practice pronunciation /t/-/d/ and have a basic knowledge about
Conditional type 3
II. OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
- Distinguish the sounds /t/ and /d/.
- Pronounce the words and sentences containing these sounds correctly.
- Use the conditional sentence type 3 correctly.
III. RELEVANT PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE:
Students have finished the reading text and the grammar lesson on passive
voice.
IV. APPROACH: integrated, Grammar-Translation method, mainly
communicative.
V. TEACHING AIDS: Blackboard, Wall- charts, textbook, handouts,
worksheets, ……
VI. ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS:
Ss may make mistakes using the third conditional, so teacher should
prepare a lot of practice.

Grammar:The Conditional Sentence Type 3:

Make new sentences by using IF


Example 1:
Nam was busy studying yesterday so he didn’t go to the museum.
=> If Nam (not be)_____________ busy studying yesterday , he
(go)________ to the museum.
=> The clause before “so” will be IF clause.
( If + the clause before so,……… : nếu mệnh đề trước so là
khẳng định thì chuyển sang phủ định và ngược lại. Mệnh đề còn
lại cũng chuyển theo nguyên tắc này.)
Example 2:
Because it rained heavily yesterday, Hoa didn’t go to school.
=> If it (not rain)_______________ heavily yesterday, Hoa
( go)__________ to school.
=> The clause after “because” will be IF Clause.
( If + The clause after “because”, …………….: nếu mệnh đề sau
because là khẳng định thì chuyển sang phủ định và ngược lại.
Mệnh đề còn lại cũng chuyển theo nguyên tắc này.)

Form: The Conditional Sentence Type 3 ( unreal condition in the past)
