UNITS
THOR
The Thor project has been
shrouded in mystery since its
inception. Agents of the
Umojan Protectorate were the
first to investigate the
Dominion’s new terror
weapon. Images from this
investigation showed a huge
bipedal war machine armed
with a dorsal artillery battery that wouldn’t be out of
place on a battleship. Most disturbing of all was the
discovery that this monster could be built rapidly from
the ground up by a standard Factory.
UNIT STATISTICS
DRIVER’S HANDBOOK
Massive armored unit that can attack both air and ground targets.
STRONG AGAINST
Its main cannons deal heavy damage to all land-based units and
structures, while its missile launchers keep enemy air forces at bay,
especially Mutalisks.
Very vulnerable without support.
Marine Mutalisk Stalker
Slow-moving and costly to produce. Combine with SCVs for field
repairs, and Medivacs to ferry them quickly across the battlefield.
WEAK AGAINST
Equipped with powerful 250mm strike cannons that incapacitate the
target and deal 500 points of damage over the course of 6 seconds.
This weapon can be fired against ground units and structures (best used
against enemy Thors, Ultralisks, or Colossi).
Marauder Zergling Immortal
COUNTERMEASURES
VS Terran
Tanks in Siege Mode with infantry support are a great way to eliminate
Thors and their escort.
Cloaked Banshees allow you to attack on your terms; try to catch the
enemy on the move and beware of Scanner Sweeps.
Assemble a large force of Marauders and focus fire. Works best if you
research Stimpacks and build a few Medivacs.
VS Zerg
For the most part, large groups of smaller units work better against Thors.
Try to attack from different directions simultaneously and don’t forget to
focus fire.
Use Zerglings to support your Roaches or Hydralisks. Be sure to research
Metabolic Boost, Tunneling Claws, and Grooved Spines.
Infestors can take over a Thor using neural parasite, turning the tide of
battle in your favor.
VS Protoss
Immortals excel against Thors due to their Hardened Shields and high
damage against armored targets.
Employ a large force of Zealots and Dark Templars to surround them. Be
sure to have the Charge upgrade for your Zealots and to designate a Thor
as your target. If you use attack move, your units will charge the escorts.
Use the High Templar Feedback ability to drain their energy and deal
instant damage. This will prevent them from using the 250mm strike
cannons.
Void rays work well against Thors.

DESTROY EVERTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@ThePreator: I would agree IF they can defeat Battlecruisers, Void Rays, Brood lords, Zerglings, Marauders, Stalkers,
@JetfirePrime: if there is just one then sure but when i get Thors i get at least 15 and whenever i get that many thors i
@ThePreator: Just don't let the enemy use to many immortals or units that kills thors super fast especially units that do
bonus damage to thors and also watch out for units that have abilities that can do severe things to thors like abilities of the
infestors including fungal growth which can stop thors from moving just so Brood lords and hydralisks can wipe them out or
the vortex which if not stopped only half of the thors can still cause some troubles.
the recent patches keep making them smaller.....soon they ll just be galioths with better arm cannons
@hivelord: lol
Thor is here
I wish they kept the part where you build them with SCVs. It makes them cooler to be so big they can't be built in the factory.
@Axis: Not at all, immortals are incredible counters to thors because they barely take any damage from the attacks and can
rip any armored unit to shreds. Voids aren't too bad either.
@Evienn: Just deploy Siege Tanks and besiege them, hit and run with banshees, Yamato em, hit em with massed zerg, use
immortals, use things that uses small drone ships to attack them and Void em but do not use Zealots or Dark templar
especially when the Thors got detectors to help them otherwise they will get stepped on.
Why do I have to use massive units on these things and tanks? Can't I beat them in direct combat like not using Siege tanks, colossus or
Brood lords?
The Thor's attaking system sucks. Once i had an army of ground + a few Thor and enemy had ground too, but then when a single
freakine collosus walks into battle the Thor attacks it with it's air attack >.<. At this point u would press A and click on the collosus and
the Thor will still attack the collosus with it's air attack. Please fix this Blizzard
I think theres alot of hype behind these guys bc everytime i am in a largescale battle they r the first to go with out doing at least
@JetfirePrime: Dts try 2 pick off straying thors. kill one then RUN! tarrans scaners will make thors turn DTs to dust
if u are fighting a big noob that has thors broodlords are great. dont try that on a pro though they will just shoot the blords instead of the
little pests
@Cavyking: BURN!
ERROR ALERT!
High Templar's feedback no longer works as the Thor has no energy and the strike cannons ability was switched to a timer based cool
@DoctorWho: yeah. thors can essentially nuke mutas without micro however
@DoctorWho: I played u
@Ferahgo: LOL
Protoss have several good counters against thors. But in a 1v1 nothing in the zerg army can stand up to the thor. I mean, i get it, Zerg
are weaker, but there isn't a 1v3 battle i've tested in which the thor loses aside from ultras. And ultras get owned by any half decent
terran player who can get up maruaders and sieges. I have to say, this is one broken unit.
