6. Crush the boiled sweets, you may need to put them into a small plastic bag and use
a rolling
7. pin to crush them into small pieces.
Put a piece of silicone paper onto a baking tray and then place the dough shapes on
top, then fill the eyes, nose and mouth with crushed sweets.
8. Bake in the centre of the oven for 25 minutes until golden brown and the crushed
sweets have melted to fill in the eyes.
Caution. Leave biscuits to cool on the tray as the sweets are hot when molten.
Chocolate coconut spider- web biscuits
1. Pre-heat the oven to 175°C and line a baking tray with silicone paper.
2. In a round bottomed bowl beat the butter and sugar together.
3. Sieve the cocoa powder and flour together.
4. Add the flour, coconut and milk and mix well until you form a dough.
5. Turn out on to a lightly floured surface and roll out to a thickness of 3 mm.
6. Using a 7 cm round cutter cut the dough and place onto the baking sheets.
7. Bake of 15 – 20 minutes or until golden brown and crisp. Lift onto a wire rack and
leave to cool.
To decorate.
8. Mix the icing sugar with the lemon juice and a little water to create a thick paste.
9. Melt the chocolate and place into a piping bag.
10. One biscuit at a time spread the top with the icing so that it is evenly covered then
using the chocolate start and the middle and make a chocolate spiral stopping at the
edge of the biscuit.
11. Take a knife, place the point on the outside of the biscuit and pull through the
chocolate and icing stopping at the centre of the spiral. Repeat six times.
12. Repeat until all the biscuits are iced.
13. Let the icing set.
14. Taking the chocolate, pipe eight legs and make a chocolate ball in the middle to
look like a spider.
