Glen's Thoughts Upcoming Events

The Columbus Dispatch recently published an Mar. 14, 7:30 pm
article based on surveys asking girls where they Jr/Sr High Movie Night at the
feel the most pressure in life. It was interesting
Shady's
how nearly everything focused on relationships.
Some of the top results that showed this were
Mar. 18, 5:30-7:30 pm
feelings of pressure surrounding friends, dating,
sex, bullying, and girl drama. Certainly from this Elementary Party
we can see that young ladies hold their personal
relationships to a high value. Problems arise, Mar. 22, 6 - 8 pm
though, when these young ladies start searching for Jr/Sr High Progressive Dinner
connection and love in the wrong places for the
wrong reasons. As the church, we can prevent this. Mar. 26, Details TBA
Thanks to Jesus there is no one who needs to feel Jr/Sr High Sold Out Retreat
unloved and unwanted. No one should have to
question whether or not anyone in this world
actually cares for them. If a teen girl crosses your Prayer Concerns
path, are you willing to give what it takes to share
 Starting 4 Week Series on
the love of Jesus with them? It’s not necessarily
easy. Remember, these young ladies want Sex
relationships; true, meaningful relationships. It  That God would raise up
takes more than smiling big and saying “Hi” on
Sunday mornings. You have to invite them into workers from within the
your lives inside and outside of church. It is a big church who are passionate
investment in time and energy. Luckily we worship
about working with young
a God who pays dividends way beyond what our
effort could ever achieve or deserve on its own. people

It has been a real joy leading our Curious 101 class these past four weeks. I want to thank each of you who
participated in the first of four courses we offer here at Fifth Avenue on becoming a great member. Our
Curious 202 class will begin on March 13th in the parlor. As stated at our congregational meeting, it is my goal
to have 30-35% of you to begin these courses this year. Our intention is to equip you for a life of service for the
Lord and to better communicate our purpose for existing in this community. With your help, we can grow a
great church.
I want to say how excited I am that many of you have committed to being a part of our choir which will
perform a cantata in a combined service on Palm Sunday this year. This will prove to be an excellent time to
invite your unchurched friends and family to FACC. We had about 45 at our first practice. God is so good!
Please pray that He will use this event to draw others to Christ and may we sing for His glory and not our own.
I want to encourage all our men to travel to Heath, Ohio with us on March 17 th for the annual Central Ohio
Men’s Bean Dinner. You will enjoy good music, food and fellowship. Be sure to check out the Poster in the
coat room and get signed up beginning this Sunday so we know how many vans are needed for the evening.
I am looking for men who like to play golf. We intend to start a golf league for the purpose of fun and
fellowship. As we seek to build a dynamic men’s ministry here at FACC, we hope to provide both fun and
growth opportunities for you to enjoy. If you want to be a part of this league, please call me at 740.550.9882 by
March 13th.
I want to thank all of you who turned in sermon ideas for 2011. Beginning March 13th, I will start a 4 week
series entitled: “The People’s Choice”. I obviously cannot use every idea that was submitted, but I am grateful
for your having put on your “thinking caps” for this series.
Let me leave you with this final thought. Everything about you has been "woven together" in his all-wise mind
and heart. Each day of your life has been "written" down by the one who made you. (Psalm 139:15-16). That's
how valuable you are to him.
Instead of being bombarded by all the ways life has mistreated you or what a mess you've made, make this a
day to celebrate what God has invested in you. You are worth far more than you realize. Now go have a great
week.
In His Service,
Brad Seevers, Eph. 3:20-21

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that
whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
