SR PROGRAMME OFFICER
(Monitoring and Evaluation)

The International HIV/AIDS Alliance is an international non-governmental organisation (NGO) that


supports communities in developing countries to play a full and effective role in the response to AIDS.
The Alliance is currently seeking to recruit staff for the following position based in Yangon. Only
candidates who meet all required specifications need apply.

Job Responsibilities
The Senior Programme Officer (M&E) will be responsible for continued development and
implementation of Alliance Myanmar monitoring and evaluation systems. The Senior Programme Officer
(M&E) will have key responsibility for maintaining the data management system and preparation of
documentation for monitoring and evaluation of the Alliance programme. Specific activities will include:

 Strengthen the data management system for monitoring of the overall Alliance programme and to
comply with Global Fund requirements
 Prepare M&E reports for donors
 Oversee date entry and analysis of partner programme activities
 Facilitate M & E workshops to build the capacity of NGO/CBO partners in monitoring and
evaluation
 Document case studies of NGO/CBO partners
 Manage evaluations of Alliance programmes as needed
 Supervise M&E Programme Support Officer

Person specification

Required
 Relevant tertiary education; in Public Health, Social Sciences or Management
 At least 3 years experience in setting up and monitoring and evaluation system
 2 years proven HIV/AIDS project management and implementation experience
 2 years proven experience of developing training curriculum and providing trainings
 Proven experience of reporting in English to different donors
 Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
 Ability to travel to townships frequently
 Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and Burmese
 Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude to working with marginalised populations and
people living with HIV.

Desirable
 Experience working with key populations affected by HIV/AIDS including Sex
Workers, MSM and PLHIV
 Experience in working with local NGOs and community partners
 Presentation skills (e.g. Power Point presentations)
 Ability to work well with Progamme and Finance teams
