make it less difficult than
it may first appear!

SKILLS NEEDED
Cast on, bind off, knit, yarn over, ssk, k2tog,
pick up and knit sts, bind off.

18 sts and 30 rows = 4” (10 cm) in blocked

HORSESHOE LACE Border, WS rows, even numbers: Knit all sts.

A Garter Tab is used to start this shawl; you
knit a small square of Garter stitch, and then BIND OFF
pick up stitches around it to create a crescent Use needles a couple of sizes bigger to
shape. It will disappear into the Garter-stitch ensure a stretchy cast-off edge, or use Jeny’s
edging of the shawl as you work. Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-off.
