In AUTO steering mode, P. I. D (proportional, differential and integral) control method is used. ‘The dual gain control method of LGM (LOW GAIN MODE) and HGM (HIGH GAIN MODE) is employed in AUTO steering mode to improve the economic efficiency by reducing the fuel cost. Especially in LGM mode, a variable gain is available within the low gain range. ‘There is an optional automatic weather adjustment for the weather adjustment of the gain control in AUTO steering mode. There is also an optional programmable function to cut off the pilot watch, integral rudder and weather adjustment which are unnecessary in the automatic course changing. ‘The operator in AUTO steering can obtain the optimum navigational condition by adjusting the knob on the facia panel. AUTO steering is controlled with the amplifier built in the steering stand, and this control circuit uses a lot of semi-conductors such as IC which are arranged on a printed wiring board to get non-contact point control for easy inspection and higher reliability. The auto is called FOLLOW-UP control because the rudder angle coincided with the order rudder angle is taken. ‘Necessary display lamps and an alarm system are provided for safety of navigation.
