What is Event Management?

Event management is a way of outsourcing occasions that are either business, soc
ial or a combination of the two. Events can be as diverse as weddings to politic
al rallies. For any business meeting or social occasion you can think up, an eve
nt management team can be called in to organize it.
Almost 500 billion US dollars (USD) are spent annually on planned events around
the world. It is no longer adequate to have a small catering team supplying food
at business events. If you want your event to be successful and look impressive
to potential clients, then eventmanagement is the way to go.
AS AN EVENT MANAGEMENT PLANNER THESE ARE SOME BASIC QUESTIONS CAME INTO MIND BEF
ORE PLANNING ABOUT A PARTICULAR EVENT THESE QUERRIES ARE AS FOLLOWS :-
1) What do you want from the event ?
A great deal of time and effort must be put into the planning of an event. Many c
ompanies and organizations simply do not have the time, experience, and resource
s to put together a quality gathering. A professional event planner can take the
stress off of clients and companies by assuming all of the duties involved with
planning and executing a convention. He or she is usually given a basic idea of
what an event is all about, including why it is taking place, budget informatio
n, and the number of people who will be present. The event planner then searches
for the best venues, negotiates rates, and establishes dates and times. By prop
er planning and understanding the last thing evoke i.e what an event planner wan
ts from the event ..from an event what he/she is going to organise. The event pl
anner must see that he/she has got an opportunity to enhance his/her company s bra
nd image ,to increase company s sales,to promote your client s products/services or
to promote a social cause etc.Defining event objectives at the very start of eve
nt planning is very important as it gives you the direction in which you should
proceed to accomplish your objectives. Organizing an event without clear objecti
ves is a huge waste of both time and resources. Interest groups will hold events
in order to market themselves, build business relationships, raise money.
2) What do you want the event to say ?
The event planner must focus almost exclusively on the satisfaction and expectat
ions of the spectators. Examine the effect of participant skill level on the e
xpectations that event participants
place on various service quality dimensions applicable to a participatory event
.When an event occurs expectations of the event planner increased ,and an eag
erness developed what and how your event influence fans' excitement and satisfa
ction , their desire to stay through the event, and their likelihood at the faci
lity provided by you during the event . This stream of research geared toward a
better understanding of service quality related to spectator events is invaluab
le. it is important
to understand as much as possible about the expectations of attendees in order t
o maximize branding and economic opportunities.
3) Is the event primarily about giving info ? Do you need then the event for thi
s at all ?
The event is all about a purpose not about giving any information
The event should not only the medium of giving information or not just to aware
public about what to do and what not to do .An event must be organised in a part
icular manner so that one should enjoy the event organised by you and at the end
of the day the participant or the audience must gain some thing by attending
your event .By providing better services you gain a lots of attention and this w
ould help you when you organise something in future .
