Performance Task Assessments: Demonstrating What You Have Learned In This Course

Part of the course requirements is to have you, the student, demonstrate what you have learned by
applying the computer science skills and practices that you are supposed to learn from the course's
learning objectives.

The Performance Tasks are designed to gather evidence of student learning with regards to the learning
objectives. The Performance Tasks measure what is taught in the course, including computational
thinking skills. You are expected to complete the following Computer Science Principles Performance
Tasks.

1. Performance Task: Explore - Implications of Computing Innovations

2. Performance Task: Create - Applications from Ideas (http://apcsprinciples.org/wp-

content/uploads/2015/03/create-pt-march-2015.pdf) .

Each Performance Task requires you to create reports and computational artifacts. One of the
Performance tasks requires you to have a Collaborative Submission (working with a partner) and a
individual submission.

Each of the performance tasks will have its own module and set of instructions. I will review the
instructions, the report, both individual and collaborative, and the computational artifact you and your
partner are suppose to create.

Please start and try to complete as much as you can the first Performance Task during spring break. If
you have any questions, please email them to me.

Assignments to be Completed for the Performance Tasks

I will check to see if you have completed the following Performance Task Assignments.

infographic, presentation, program, web page) that you create to express the effects of your
chosen innovation.

Written Support for Artifact: a type-written report in which you respond directly to several
prompts - you must convey a deep level of understanding about your artifact.
