Research Activities
1-Application of PB Rope-L (sex pheromone) in
controlling cotton Pink Bollworm in district
Sanghar(2005) {experiment on 400 acres}

2-Application of Bio pesticides for the control of

cotton insect pests in district Sanghar
(2006) {experiment on 6 acres} Contd….

ORGANIZATION(NAFO) SANGHAR

Research Activities
3-NAFO, with the collaboration of SOFWM, has been
introducing the LASER land leveling system on
experimental basis in five villages of taluka Sinjhoro
Distt. Sanghar since October 2007.
Each experiment has been conducted on five acre
plot and total land 25 acres has been leveled.
The data regarding saving of irrigation water,
fertilizer and crop yield will be collected and
compared with traditional or farmer plots.
NATURAL AGRICULTURE AND FARMING
ORGANIZATION(NAFO) SANGHAR

Achievements
1-PB Rope-L (sex pheromone)
PB-Rope Application gave an excellent control on
pink bollworm, early boll formation & maturity, more
beneficial insects, quality seed cotton and 5-7
mds/acre increased yield as compared to farmer
plot.
Contd….
NATURAL AGRICULTURE AND FARMING
ORGANIZATION(NAFO) SANGHAR

2-Bio pesticides

Application of Bio pesticides gave significant control

against sucking complex, found economic and safe to
environment and beneficial insects.

As a repellent; the Bio pesticides were found helpful in

repelling the bollworms, whereby early boll formation,
less flower shedding, more beneficial insects, and 3-5
mds/acre increased yield was achieved as compared to
farmer plot.

NATURAL AGRICULTURE AND FARMING
ORGANIZATION(NAFO) SANGHAR

3- Reduction in the use of pesticides:

Due to the dissemination of IPM technology and the
awareness given through ToF & FFS, many growers of
district Sanghar have reduced the use of chemical
pesticides on cotton by 20-30%.

Even some growers have received 15-20 mds/acre cotton

yield without using any chemical pesticides. They usually
used neem oil, kerosene oil, detergent and extract of
tobacco leaves against harmful insects.
